Your best bet is to check with the airline as they are all different.
Last year we flew with Thomson and they were really strict made me taste bottles etc. This year we flew with Thomas cook and they were much better when it came to kids, My sister had 7 bottles of cooled water, sudocrem, calpol everything for my nephew and all they made her do was take it out the bag and put it seperately through the scanner. I also found that on the return journey they didnt bother at all. My ds had a cup of juice, medised and sudocrem and they just put the bag through no problem.
I cant see there being a problem with playdough, its not liquid may just be the mess factor hth xx

There is no rule regarding playdough on planes currently as far as I know, and I had home made playdough with me when I flew to Norway in july, I was never asked anything about it in security and it went through alright o?O17/9/08 09:42
You are allowed to take anything under 100ml on the plane, but you are not allowed playdough, as I was going to take it on the plane with me when we went on hols in August and we weren't allowed it. HTH

Check out the website for your airline. We've just flown with Thomas Cook and their website had huge list of things you can and cant take. I didnt realise you couldnt take lipstick and mascara etc. You can take small bottles of shampoo etc under 100ml. Or can buy stuff from the airport once you're through checkin. The shops just ask for your flight number.

It used to be anything up to 100 ml u r allowed to take in a clear plastic bag (you'll get at the airport), so you could take a small vaseline pot or put some vaseline in a smaller tub.Not sure about the play dough.

I'm off to Portugal on Thursday and just wondered if anyone knew if I'm able to take vaseline in my hand luggage for when I change lo's nappy? Also I've brought lo a small pot of play dough to keep her occupied...is this allowed?? Any info much appreciated!!
Thanks x

Hi there. We've just come back from France and the 100ml limit is still in force. This is a total of 100ml so be careful and put everything thats not an necessity in your suitcase. We forgot my husbands toiletry bag was in the hand luggage and they took away his deodorant and shaving cream. Luckily, there was a boots when we got through the other side but it was just annoying as they were brand new. Just check the size of the vasolene but you should be ok. Also, they confiscated peoples bottled water and drink cartons, but not babies beakers or bottle. They get you to taste it in front of them. Sorry, don't know about the playdough, but can't see why it would be a problem as it's not a liquid. hth x
