Not really the right person to answer this one - but on the Feb 07 Mummies thread kmg was having the exact same problem. Turns out her lo had an ear infection.
I'll mention to her on the thread about your post, just in case she doesn't notice it and I'm sure she'll respond to you herself.

Anyone else lo biting at the moment. Just collect dd (19 months ) from nursery and she has biten again. We have gone weeks without it. It all seems to coincide with teething which I know hurts but also they say she seems to be after a toy at the same time. We are teething gettin 3 caines but they are coming through so slowly.
I feel just such a bad mummy as dont know how to stop it she doesnt bite at home or if she does its so rare cant remember when she last did. Nursery are being great going to try a sponge next week to see if she will chomp on that. I am so worried they will ask us to take her away from nursery

My DD is almost 18 months and keeps biting at nursery, she'll go for weeks without doing it and then she does it. I know how you feel, when the staff tell me I feel so awful, they said that when they tell me it looks like I'm going to cry!
I know it's normal and because of teething but you still feed bad. We have given DD a teether to take to nursery, put gel on her gums, and even let her take her dummy in but she still does it at times. You just need to keep telling your LO that it's wrong etc, we got a book from the library for DD to read called "Teeth are not for biting" and she seems to understand it's wrong and is getting better. It's a case of perservering (sp) They will grow out of it but still doesn't make it any easier. If you fancy a moan etc just pm me for a chat
