I think the problem with that is not group b strep but that normally the midwives won't let you walk around with the inducing drip. I'm not sure if they let you walk with the preventing drip for group b strep as I'm not sure what exactly they give you.

Hi, did anyone have group b strep and a 'normal' birth?! I had it but was confined to a bed for the whole experience because my waters broke early and I had to be induced. Knew I would have to be on drip before the experience, but wanted to keep moving, use birthing ball, etc. Am just wondering if it would be the same if I were to have another, assuming group b strep stays with you forever that is! Thanks for any answersx

I had 'normal' births with both of mine, despite carrying strep b. the only issue was having to be tied down whilst they drip antibiotics through you every couple of hours but this doesn't take long and there is no reason for you to sit on a bed whilst they do this, you could still be on a birthing ball or something! you are treated as having strep b once they discover it - it comes and goes so they just excercise caution as the consequences can be devestating. Hope that helps.
