HI Lea, Maxi and everyone, thanks so much for your ideas! Good to know we arent the only family out there with this problem!

I will persevere - he is teething at he moment with 2 big bottom molars, which might be part of the problem... I guess if he's hungry, he'll eat

Thanks for the idea about pasta by the way, I'll give it a go - maybe with cheese sauce cos he's not keen on tomatoes lol - thanks guys x

Sorry me again!!!  Will he eat pasta?  I make a tom sauce for my 2 & then I boil up some veg (e.g. carrots, broccoli, cauli etc) then mash these up & mix it into the tom sauce.  I then mix this with pasta & add grated cheese!!!  I make up a big batch of it too & freeze it so that it's a quick meal.

    Hey Gill!!!

My dd never eats so much for her evening meal so I swapped the lunch & evening meal around, so now she has her big meal at lunch & then something like a sandwich, wrap or dips etc for dinner.  I weighed her too as she didn't seem to be eating as much but her weight is more than it should have been lol!!!!

Also, could Fred be teething cos I know dd tends to reduce her food intake when she is.

My daught is 21 months too and we are having the same issues! Like the previous poster Jenna goes to nursery 3 full days a week and always eats her meals and snacks there i put this down to it being a social event with lots of other children etc, she even eats things i thought she hated as she throw it on the floor here! As fpr meals at home she used to eat most things esp vegetables and fruits but now she eats a little then starts slying dropping it on the floor etc! There is nothing much u can do but keep offering the meals and snacks and lots of praise and encouragement when they do eat something however dont pressure them to eat as it may make things worse! If your worried speak to your HV or GP x

my ds is the same! i'm just thankful he goes to nursery 3 times a week as he always eats fine there. at home, i say to him do you want some dinner, and he just says no and carries on playing. not even interested to see what it is!! sometimes when i get him to the table he'll eat a few mouthfuls (ate half his dinner yday hooray!), but other times i can't even get him in the highchair. i guess we'll just have to grin and bear it until it passes... little mr/miss independences they are lol!

Hiya, not spoke to you for ages.

Ky is exactly the same at the moment, he has 2 bottom front 4 top front and 4 molars, all he is living on at the moment is grapes, grapes and more grape with a few apples, bananas and satumas thrown in for good measures

I always give him his meals even though I know he isn't going to eat it, my worst meal is dinner (midday) I never know what to give him as there is nothing he eats, and everything that I do give him he pushes around and then feeds the dog, throws it round the kitchen along with his plates

It is just a phase and will pass I remember Kian being the same at the same age.

Does anyone have any ideas for me please?

Fred is 22 months old, he still only has 2 front teeth (bottom) and 6 top teeth. He had always been a good eater up until about 2 months ago, when he suddenly took a dislike to most things on his dinner plate and wont eat them. He's always eaten whatever we have, I just cut it up small for him due to his lack of teeth.

These days, we get to dinner time and he wont touch a thing - not even his favourites like sausages, or fish fingers or chicken.. he just ends up throwing it round the kitchen.

Sandwiches he will eat no problem, but I cant just give his sarnies for every meal!

Any ideas appreciated, thanks - I'm most worried about him not eating any veg (he will eat raisins, apricot pieces and apple so gets his fruit) xx
