i find it amazing some of the stuff they know. DS is nearly 22 months and not talking yet but when you ask him to draw a picture of daddy he draws a circle and 2 dots for eyes!!

I remember when my older sons were toddlers, they could name EVERY car correctly and dinosaur lol!!!! ...sad that they forgot it all before they went to school!!!!!  I agree, they are like sponges just now!

I'm just teaching my 19 month dd shapes, she can point out a circle, square and star, she ignores triangles!

I agree, their minds are like sponges, I think it's great to teach them as much as you can - I'm sure that when they learn things and get the praise it encourages them to want to learn as they get older.

I think thats brilliant hun! I think at this age they are like little sponges, they learn so much... Fred can name shapes but he's not a very good drawer (takes after me obviously, I failed art lol) x

that my toddler who is 20 months can identify and name a triangle, circle , square and star and can draw a circle?  Just wondering if that was quite good. Not that i think she is going to be a brain surgeon lol!!!! I am sure she will soon forget them all!
