    Hiya

Angie - I'm sorry to hear about your lo but glad to hear she's better now.  Anya also had 2 nights this week with temp of 39 degrees so I was really stressed.  It's such a worry when they are ill isn't it.  Turns out she's sprung 2 molars so I think it was teething or viral illness with her cold.  Anyway she seems over the worst I hope and is doing ok  - just learned how to open her hands up to hold a ball and has started waving!! I am a proud Mummy.

Hope your lo's are doing well.

    xx

    hi everyone

    how are you all.

ellie had a bad turn last week ,she got a temp which caused her to fit(hasnt fitted since birth) the medi they gave her then caused her to stop breathing but after being resusitated she then slept for 48 hrs, bless her.she ok now and back home and back to norm whatever that is.

looked at the makaton site than was mentioned it looks good, spoke to the nursury teacher at childrens centre about it and they are going to be learning it there which is good news for me,they are going to find out if i can join them which would be even better.

hope your all getting on ok speak to you soon

    Hiya,

ha ha they're funny our lil ones just cause us endless amount of worry and the same amount in joy!!

It's good to know that Anya was doing that to with the head shaking also and Millie may grow out of it, she say Hiya now too.

Millies doing really well thankyou and we have just had a chap out today to fit fixing onto her matress to stop her stiffening, it comes in 2 weeks.

You should ask social worker to help with the dla form, mine is really good.

    Big hugs.

    xx

ooh - i really fancy the Makaton signing - i like the idea of bringing action, words and pictures together. I just need to see if there is anywhere nearby that does it when i'm not working

Has anyone else been offered portage?  The epilepsy nurse has said she's referred us - again it's having time off work when i can do it !  The other thing I need to try and do is tackle the DLA form can't say i'm looking forward to that one.

    Hiya

lol - Anya went through the head shaking stage too!!  I was really worried she had a spasm but clearly not as she hardly ever does it now!!  I have been doing some baby signing with her and she got 'duck' but her hand co-ordination isn't really up to anything else although she does try - bless her!  She's really trying to copy us with words at the moment which I think is a good sign although she doesn't usually get it right.  Where there is a will there's a way though I like to think!

    How is Millie doing?

    xx

    Hi abunge,

just reading your post have you tried makaton signing, it really helps doing the same with Millie and she's starting to grasp!! However her fav thing at the mo is to shake her head as  no, lil terror

If you type in Makaton into google it is the first one and brings up homepage

    Hope Anya gets better soon.

    Hiya

We had our Speech Therapy appointment yesterday and wasn't overly reassuring.  Lo is behind with her speech/ babble and they won't be able to tell anything until she starts to make sentences anyway - not very useful session really!  Never mind, she's started doing a few new things and her muscle tone looks a bit more relaxed so feeling more cheerful in any case!

Hope you all doing well xx

    Hiya

Anya is now 11 months (!) and  says dada, nana and sometimes mumum but a lot of sounds like adad and udud so not long rambling sentences of babble which some babies are doing.  She does try to copy sounds but not generally very successfully so will see what ST says.

Hope Eleanor is doing well and coping with this hot weather!

thank you abunge - your little darling looks gorgeous too!

Eleanor generally isn't photogenic - that photo's about the only smiling one we've got.

Is your little girl making any sounds?  she's about 10 months now isn't she?  Eleanor keeps making noises but i'm not convinced they're starting to form sounds as well as she should be.  Just wondered what they'd said about ST?

yeah-i have been really impressed by how helpful people have been when we have nagged.  I found the best best was to ring the secretaries that you've been referred to and just say you were wondering what kind of wait it's gonna be... they then go oh look got your referral , oh look got a cancellation... you get the idea - and what's the worse that happens - they tell you to get lost.  I hate waiting so much

    Hi everyone,

just htought i'd bump the thread up a bit.

Eleanor is doing great - still seizure free and has finally got the 'sparkle' back in her eyes.

She's got a new 'corner seat' from the OTs which she loves as she can now sit up and play.

in answer to the question some time ago which i didn't notice!  eleanor first went to see the opthalmologist when she was bout six months - it may have been a little earlier than that but it all seems such a whirlwind.

I hope everyone is doing ok, and look forward to hearing from you all XXX

    Hi everyone,

Sorry not been on for a while don't get much time and I've started back at work this week.  Hate leaving my little man.

Happy to hear all your little ones seem to be progressing in the right direction, and glad to hear millie didn't have chicken pox, they thought my two year old niece had chicken pox too, but she was mis-diagnosed.

Liam smiled at about 2 1/2  - 3 months.  I think he's doing quite well just doesn't seem to want to do anything except lie on his back. He six months now, I don't have my next appointment with the consultant until september, but the I need to arrange to see the gp about his eczema so I'll mention it to her and see what she thinks.

    Take care.

    Nikki + Liam.
