Hi all sorry not been on much its half term here so not really getting a chance to come on much. Adam as gone to the go kids go play aera with go karts etc there he as gone with his youth group team.
He as had something to do all wk although yesterday his youth team never had anything planned so he was at home all day but I found out the local centre was doing a family crafts morning all wk we went yesterday for the first time adam was overwhelmed by the amount of people having breakfast as i was a free breakfast aswell but other than that he did fab. Adam made a halloween t shirt with grave stones pumpkins etc and his other brither made a t shirt with balloons on and his sis made a bag with balloons on. Today they have made grass heads and miniture gardens they look really good.
Adam is doing really well and coping well espically as there is not much routine etc this wk but he as been really good. I can honestly say I have enjoyed having him at home this wk which I have not been able to say before. Well better go now gets kids lunch on speak to you soon .

hi everyone, parents evening went okay, she said hes probably above average intelligence but he just wont do any work and when he does he scribbles all over it
, she agreed with me that he gets very over stimulated with the noise of a classroom and finds that hard to deal with, she also agreed with me that he will probably benefit for going to a special school, I feel much better since we have decided thats what we are going to do, it will be much fairer on him.I was wondering about Charlotte too. Im glad masons went well, thats brilliant news.
Hope you are all well, love Rachael x

jay saw a diatition before he got diagnosed to see if any of his food was linked to his behavour , only thing she suggested we change was coffee to decafinated , my aunt gave him the coffee in the first place , it wasnt some thing i wanted him to have it just one of those things he set his mind on .

Hi Vicky, ive just thought about what ive said, im such a thikko. Jacks on 12.5 a day as his tabs are 5 and he has 2 and a half tabs per day. I wouldnt be surprised if they up his dose as i think its working but maybe not enough. Its just scary at the thought of him having more than that. Sorry for being so dense lol xx doh.
18/10/08 11:40
its so difficult isnt it. 60mg, gosh thats huge! jack is on 5mg at the moment. I dont blame you for taking him off it, you definitely did the right thing. Obviously they will have to up jacks as he grows, so we will have to see how it goes - I hate the thought of having to give him a bigger dose. Itsa no win situation isnt it. I really hope his behaviour improves for you hun x
18/10/08 11:30
hi racheal .
jays been having a break from it since april , i took him off it cause he was really skinny and looked ill his eyes had dark circles around them he had been the same shoe size for 2 years as well , since coming off them hes gone up 2 shoe sizes and looks alot healthier . jay takes a high dose of 60mg a day
and has done since they got the dose right so about 5 and a half .
if you read up on ritalin ,it says they should have a break roughly every six months as it stumps there growth suppresses there appitite ect .
jays tried lots of meds and ritalin is the only one that worked , i remember in the first few weeks he walked around like a zombie i was close to taking him off it once his body got used to taking it he was just like any other child .
now if he takes it hes like a zombie again cause he doesnt take it regular .
he now refuses to take it at school because it makes him withdrawn he doesnt want to play with the other kids .the rate hes going hes going to have to start taking them again xxx

Hi Vicky, sounds like you are having a complete nightmare, big hugs. Is it the school that said he couldnt go on the trip? if so, I think thats unfair. Fair enought they have to learn right from wrong but it does zilch for their self esteem always getting told they are naughty at school, this is a big gripe of mine at the mo.
Jacks going up and down - its only been a week and a definite improvement, had a dip for a couple of days and is on the up again, i guess his body is still getting used to it. Touch wood and everything else, its not messign up his sleep or appetite thank god. I phoned the school up as im sick of only getting negative, if i feel crap for it how must he feel, Friday they were really positive about him and he got top of the behaviour chart, first time ever on a Friday.
Why is Jay having a break, have the doctors told you to give him a break to see how he is without it? I hope you sort his medication again soon, I must admit, I dont think I could be without it now I have seen how it changes them from what I can see is for the best - chin up mate, im right with you on feeling poo about behaviour, its like a living nighmare xxxx

hi ladies im so sorry i havnt been on for a while ,

hi ladies how is evryone just got mason anual review date wich is tuesday 11th november this is the deciding one they brought it forward as its supposed to be march but march is when they make all the desitions for school admitions for next september im not sure how long after the review you get a answer or wether you have to wait till next march to see if you get your places im not sure wether it be stated in his statement when they send me the finalised copy about 8 weeks after the meeting
16/10/08 18:17
great news charlotte. We are also looking into special school for jack as its expecting too much of him at mainstream and i feel its unfair on him, have had his review bought forward to after xmas. How long does it take after the review to get an answer do you know?

hi everyone, what you up to for the weekend. Today we going to a facepainting thing with my nieces (should be interesting!) ds said he wants to be a fly, like you do lol, i doubt he will have his done though lol.
Tomorrow either walk on the beach or bowling depending on the weather, thats the plan anyway. My mum wants the bowling but im not sure how that will work out as they are very noisy places....
Hope you all have a good weekend x
