this is disgracefull!!!
With your sons special needs, you can ask for him to be statmented, which means the the nursery should get funding to help him in nursery.
If its a special needs one you may have one in place already, if so then transport should be rovided by the county.
I dint come in here very often, if you want any more help pm me hun and i will help all i can

Call Shelter 0808 800 4444. This is a freephone number. They can give you advice over the phone, and they can also advocate on your behalf with your local authority. they also have solicitors who can offer advice. Shelter also have local housing Aid centres, you can find out if there is one near you at their website www.shelter.org.uk. Contacting your local children and families or homeless social work centre would be really worth while too as supporting letters from professionals like this can make all this difference. Any what never EVER fails to get your application reviewed is contacting your MP. They can write a letter of support to your Local Authority too. Dnnt be shy about doing this, they see it every day. And, speaking from experience, when youve over 80 homeless clients on your 'to do' list, its the ones who do the things mentioned above that get the most of your attention. Its terrible for the quite clients who ask for nothing but when youre stretched to your limits this is the reality. best of luck.22/7/08 18:55
Contact social services and the charity Shelter for advice about your housing situation. Social services are able to pull strings to get you housed quickly.

i am sorry you are stuck in this situation. nathan is autistic and diabetic and we got this place as quick as we did(10 months) because of that and social reasons. he gets free transport as he is more than 3 miles away form the special needs school. we are actually about 20. i dont see why they cant help you. i wish you the best

My son is 2 has a lesion on his brain ,cannot sit up and he doesnt babble or anything he has global developmental delay and severe epilepsy he can hav 20 fits or more per day and is in hospital about once a month.he has a specially adapted stroller,he doesnt sleep through the night wakes every half hour..we r living in homeless accomadation and because he is outwith the village he goes to nursery in(its a special needs nursery where we r from) they wont provide transport so have to fork out of our benifits more than £60 a week as i cant get his adapted stroller on the bus, what really gets me though is im a single parent and the hav placed me on the 2nd floor of homeless flats when i come into the flats i hav to wait for someone to come in and then ask them if they can help me up the stairs ,i can sometimes be waiting an hour ,maybe more! we had been in 3 private lets and after 6 months the lanlords always sold them and i thought i really need to get a home we can call ours, really didnt think they would make us go homeless.also when we had our private let we had 350 medical housing points when u go homeless they swipe the medical points of and give you 400 homeless points,a single person who is homeless gets the same amount so we really no hav anymore chance than anyone else.i went to see an mp who said they cant interfere with housing policy but can right me a letter of support ,hospital ,school and docs hav also written letters ,can anyone give me advice on what else i can do .im worrying so much ,i cry alot and i just want whats best for my son he means the world to me at times i feel like i cant do this anymore put he always puts a smile on my face, hes very special. thanks

hi im unsure with its the same council to council but they only pay for transport if nursary is over 3 miles away you could however ask for him to be statemented then this could be included not always though and do you have the national bus pass scheme the bus pass for elderly that allows them to travel free on buses if so once hes 5 wich i appreciate may not be for a while you can as hes a fare payer aply for a bus pass that would entitle him to a free bus travel also cause of his needs could get one for companion so his companion can travel at reduced fare
