    Hi Ashtonsmummy.

My lot are doing ok. They go a bit on the blue side every now and then and have growth problems but otherwise they are happy children.

Have you heared anything about surgery yet. I was told i should of lost my son because it was asumed he had one hole (asd) but when he got to 9 months old they decided that there was to much fliud on his lungs so did a cardiac catheter and thats where they discovered the other 2 holes. he also has a narrowed artiry to the left lung which saved his life, if that didnt restrict the flow he would have surly died at 3 months old. he never showed any signs of being a heart baby and has never turned blue. Doctors were amazed that he was still with us at the time. He had his open heart surgery at Bristols childrens hospital. its a fab place.

They want my DD to wait for her surgery until she is 5 as they are hopeing to do it by keyhole rather than open which will be better but we arnt banking on it. Heart children can change so rapidly and we are just waiting for that blow.

my other dd is under investigation and has to have a ecg in november, im dreading it. also i have a scan in a weeks time for this baby which i will be 9wks and 1 day pregnant with.

i hope everything goes well for you all. keep me informed of how things are going and i will do my best to support you where i can

Shanlou _ I feel like i'm reading my own life story reading yr post, My first son Ashton was born with a massive AVSD which he has surgically closed at Graet Ormond Street when he was 6moths old, i have just had another boy 15days ago, and had lots of extra scans etc, to check that this baby, all the tests and scans proved clear, untill i had Aiden 3 days after delivery they found a murmur, he had an echo this week and they have confirmed ASD with PFO, so that's dissapointting for us, awaiting cardio consultant to confirm surgery plan , hope yr lil ones are doing well though in general

    Hi.

My DD has just turned 1 and has been diagnosed with and ASD.

She was ill with a bug and was taken in to hosp for dehydration and that is when they discovered she had a murmer. It turns out its an ASD and she will have to have surgery but not until she turns 5 yrs old. My DS had an ASD and a VSD COMPLETE which means he had 3 holes in his heart and had to have emergancy surgery after he turned 1 yr old.

my other dd is being investigate now too and i have also been told that they will do extensive scans on this baby too.
