My ds aged 5 has an ASD/ADHD assessment in early November this year and I haven't got a clue what it entails so it's been interesting reading the comments on here.

Hi, thanks for replying.  We, and the school, filled out the Connors forms back in June but they got sent to the wrong dept and lost so we have to do that over again, good old NHS.  The nurse therapist tried talking to ds last week but he kept changing the subject, climbed onto the window ledge and said he was jumping out the window if he couldn't get his nintendo back and then he just left the room so the whole process should be great fun!  I think DH and I are at a stage now where we have tried all the tactics, been on several courses and seen so many people that we are now prepared to try a medication approach, again, all advice very much appreciated. Thank you x

hi my son has adhd and aspergers , hes is now 9 and a half ,

we were given a conners report and so was the nursury he attended ,

a conners report is a chart with numerous questions on it regarding behavour concentration ect , its numbers 0 1 2 3 you circle wich one applys there is a graph underneath that they work out hth ,

also there is a new thing called a qb test , where they sit them infront of a computor give them a button to click to see what their concentration is like .

its been a few years since my son was diagnosed , there may be different thins now .

also in diff parts of the country docs do it differently . hope that is of some help gives you a rough idea

    I have a questionSharri1

Hi, my eldest ds (7) has a diagnosis of autism and attends an autism specific school however as he gets older and his behaviour get worse it's his hyperactivity and complete inability to focus for more than a few minutes (not to mention his tantrums and aggression) that are really hard to cope with.  After months of dh and I and the school pressing for an adhd assessment we finally had a 'triage appt' last week and the nurse therapist agreed to put him forward to be assessed.  We were told we'll get our first appt in a few weeks as there are only 3 other kids on the list at the moment so I was just wondering what to expect.  Obviously we've been through similar prior to the autism diagnosis a few years ago, but now that ds is older he will be more involved and that worries us too as he is unaware of his diagnosis but obviously this might start him thinking.  So far he has never even questioned why his school is 'different' even though he has good communication/understanding in a lot of areas.  Sorry, rambling now, any advice or experiences appreciated, thanks x
