Hi Everyone
My little girl was born at 32 weeks. She is now 6 months old and i have a few niggles that i wondered if any of you could help me with. She is a very smiley baby and the majority of the time seems happy. She has trouble breast feeding and cannot eat any form of solid (baby rice etc) as her tongue protrudes and keeps sticking out and seems too big for her mouth - is this something that other mums have found with there premature babies. She is also quite small, although to be honest im not too sure whether she i s 'normal' for her due date. I ahve been looking at milestones for a 4 months old baby not a 6 month old and she does seem to be behind with some of them. This is my second child so i have a good comparision to a full term baby and i know all babies develop at different rates but just wondered if anyone else had any of these niggles, just so i know im not on my own.
Thanks
Sarah

Hiya
My lo wasn't premature but had a mild brain injury and seizures at birth and has been slow to develop with certain things - movement primarily. She crawled at 15 months and is now cruising at 16 months and coming on quite well with most things. Nowhere near walking yet though! She has never struggled with food or drinking though so don't have any personal experience of this. However, I just wanted to say that I have a friend whose baby has no physical issues but always has her tongue protruding and I have noticed that she is quite messy when she' s eating or having a bottle. My friend once said it's like she doesn't know what to do with her tongue. It may well be something that resolves itself but if you are anything like me I imagine you wil be worried about it.
How is your lo doing in reaching her other milestones?
