it does sound like your dd has asd probably not aspergers, just asd. the good thing is there is loads of support out there and loads of simple ways to help her learn with changes of routine. 1 way is to introduce a surprise symbol - a card with a question mark. so each day she has a surprise which is something slighly different. the long term aim is that you can't go to the shops as you have to go to hospital and you can give her the surprise card and the behaviour you get is not as negative as without it. Just keep pushing for help and support they rarely give it easily - unless you are a lucky one.

We have  amassive developmental assesment coming up from 8-12december where they assess all areas of development,

after that in Jnauary she'll be fasttracked through to PDDAG gues sina  way im kind of try to gage from other parents what sort of ASD trhey think she may ahve ??

shes hasnt got the hand flappping/rocking or anythign like that and is actually a very very good girl providing we stick with the routine, like tonight shes bouncing of the walls quite literally throwing pillows about jumping of sofa, spinning her toy buggy about in the air !!!!!!!

Luckily i have some Vallergan left in cupboards so depsite what gp says im giving her some or i just know it will be a 5am night again !!!!!!!!!!

she just likes her set routine, she doesn tunderstand orde rof things such as such and such will come next but she seems to know what time it is ?? i.e she knows when its 8am, 12pm and 4pm, those are her meal times and she gets very agitated if out and about and i miss them, by say 1/2 an hour her behaviuor quickly goes downhill, i ahve to prepare ahead all the time.

shes defiantely getting betetr but probably coz i try to preemt trhings, gr gotta go shes just jujmped of chair from table !!!!!

Ok, thanks heres a list of Charlottes " ways "

    She is 2 years.8 mths

    she has no speech whatsoever.

She only understand certain things, like Where are your boots, where's your coat, sit down .

but she cannot locate body parts.

Her latest thing is stoping at every path, road on he line and pressing an imaginary buittom at least 3 x before she will cros sover the line,

she also has to put new things to her lips, not lick it but just put item to lips before playing/ing etc etc, even to a degree she sometimes will do it on the floor in new places.

She went through a phase of having to walk a particular way to the shops and lo and behold if i went a different way.

We ahve just taught her to hold hands, an now in new places she gets scared and will have to go in buggy or be carried as she goes still.

She goes through phases of walking on tip toes.

eye contact is sooo much better than it used to be  but only on her terms.

shes is apparently at the play age they say of about a one year old

    Her sleep is awfull.

Its so hard a si ahve to stick to a day to ay routine, if i deveiate like today a smy Granadad is in hospital she is absoluet madness to settle and goes almsot hyper.

but the doctors decided to take her off Vallergan forte at niht to see what happens

erm not sure what else to say but what do you think ?????

oh playin with others she doesnt do apart form interact with her sister, but she does run up to randon children grab them and go "ticka icka icka" which means tickle, and if we stop her and say no she gets really upset asnd its hard to explain to her whats wrong as she gets upset throws herself on ther floor and screams as if we've hurt her ??

oh and shes only just sort of begginning to learn imaginary play ??

oh and whe she hyurts herself she doesnt always notice or will cry whe she does notice but wont for eg come upt o us to show us the bad spot ???

    so ?????????????

Only from what my son was like, id say :

Lack of concentration, lack of eye contact, late speech, difficult behaviour, sameness, routine, lining things up, wrist flapping, tiptoe walking.

Thats what he was like young, he speaks now and doesnt stop, he still has the behaviour very much so, especially at school.

Hi there my ds aged 5 is a totally different child from when he was at 2half. I was totally and utterly convinced at that age he was very severely autistic. His language didn't really take off until he was 4 and he didn't say 'mummy' until he was 3. I could hardly understand a word he said.

He was a VERY difficult child, a NIGHTMARE my life was a misery. I had a child I couldn't take anywhere and couldn't enjoy like other parent's did.

He is TOTALLY different now. I really can't believe the change in him. When he hit 4 there was a vast improvement in everything and although he still has problems I can live with them and I wouldn't be without him. He's a sweetheart.

He has an ASD/ADHD assessment in early November this year! I'm crapping myself. It's something in a way I have been wanting for such a long time but it is so scary.
