Hi, just a thought, but I would say playing some quiet, soothing music, which would help to mask any noises going on whilst she is trying to sleep, it worked with our Ds who went through a similar phase of waking in the night.  Also could she be worried about your lo and thinking she is missing out on time with you?

I'm hoping some of you ladies can give me some advise. My daughter who is 27 months old is not sleeping. when i put her to bed at night she will settle after a while, she has always rocked herself back and forth in bed when she is tired and when shes doing this she normally goes off to sleep after a while. A few weeks ago she started waking in the night and will stay awake  for hours, anything between 2 and 4 hours, sometimes it can be longer!!!! some of the time she will just be chatting or laughing her head off, but then has sudden outbursts of screaming. this has been going on for about three weeks now. she is so tired during the day and now will not sleep during the day either. I  put her to bed about an hour and half ago because she looked exhausted and she is still awake. this is really getting me down as i'm not getting a proper sleep and i also have a 9 mth old to look after. i  just dont know what to do.
