popped up to the late opening pharmacy, they have given him some eye drops, said it is a slight infection, and to watch him carefully, if i see a ot of gunge i should phone nhs 24

Yes it could well be conjunctivitis. the infection will be the cause of the gunk and swelling and the red bit will pop out due to being swollen. xxx

i would phone nhs 24. thats what there for. i dont have a clue what it could be but i would def phone. let us know what it is. hope he is better soon x 

as the heading says, my ds1, who has just turned 4, has something wrong with his eyes - they are all swollen underneath and he keeps rubbing them - wen i press lightly on the lower lids, the red bit kinda pops ouy, iykwim?  and they seem sort of gungy.  he is also tired and sneezy, with slight constipation - do i need to phone the nhs helpline, do you think?
