Hi, thanks for your replies so quickly.  He keeps waking up crying and then going back to sleep bless.  His appetite is still quite good.  He has been having icecream every day which is soothing his sore throat.

Sometimes (and I don't know if this is the case with your lo) the rash is caused by a viral infection and it's usually the last thing to show so when it does come out it's like a turning point and things should start to pick up from here and your lo should start to feel better rather than worse if that makes sense. Get well soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi,My ds has a cold but on Thurs was complaining about his throat being sore.  On Friday and today he has swollen glands.  His temp is ok although I have been giving him calpol quite regularly as he has been in a lot of pain.  Today he started to come out in a rash on his legs and arms which is a light pink colour and feeling very miserable.  He is also pale and feels tired.  I took him to the out of hours surgery and they checked him over and said he had an infection due to the spots.  There were 3 other lo in the surgery also had similar spots.  Has anyone else's lo had the same experience?
