excellent!!  lmao..  altho grr at her telling him he was naughty...  hurrah for FIL!!

She really shouldn't have told him he was naughty though, he obviously doesn't understand just yet and is just learning.  Boys are notorious for taking longer to train and I think you are doing the right thing in taking a lead from him.  I did the same with my DS and he was done pretty much within a day - no accidents ever. xx

DS is 28mths and DH and I were going to potty train him this summer but he just showed no signs of being ready so we left it.  Over the past few days he's shown a real interest in people going to the toilet, what he's done in his nappy etc so I figure he's getting close to being ready but I'm not rushing him.  MIL put him on the toilet yesterday because he said he wanted to sit on it and he sat there but didn't do anything.  He asked me this morning so I put him on again but again he did nothing.  Anyway, today MIL put him on the toilet again and then decided to leave his nappy off and see if he'd tell her that he needed to do anything.  He did a poo on her living room carpet and then told her he'd done it!  ROTFL.  Serves her right for interfering and thinking she knows best.  Thing is she told DS he was naughty!  FIL was a star and told her she was the one in the wrong as she shouldn't have left him without a nappy if she wasn't prepared for accidents.
