depends on the size of your tins but I do 6oz SR flour, 6oz soft marg, 3 eggs, 6oz caster sugar and a drop of vanilla essence and beat it all together in one big bowl and then split between two cake tins - cook on 180 for about 20 mins...takes minutes and tastes gorgeous!

    I do:-

     4 eggs

    8oz flour

    8oz butter/marg

    8oz caster sugar

    1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla essence (or whatever flavour you want)

I split this between 2 8 inch (I think!!) round tins. Make sure all ingredients are at room temp - makes the cake rise better!

Temp is 170 for 30-35 minutes - have a look at delia online - she's who I used to use and my cakes have never gone wrong!!

Basic sponge mix I use (from bero) is:

    2 eggs

    4oz sugar

    4oz sr flour

    4 oz marg

cream marg & sugar together then add egg and flour & mix.  Think temp is about 170/180 but not 100% on that
