We had a woodland lodge and it was so nice! Really well done out and all new. The short drive (just over an hour) was one of our deciding factors too!

I've never been before but have only heard good about CP.  We have just booked to go for a week next July.  We are going to Elevedon and for a 3 bedroom lodge it has worked out £300 per adult (there are 4 adults) which might sound alot but when you think what it cost to go abroad I dont think it seems too bad.  Also we have a 2 year old and when we go will have a 5 month old so to only have to drive a short distance to get to our holiday is really appealing.  We could have got a cheaper lodge but decided for the the difference in price it was worth it as we will probably spend quite a bit of time in the lodge.

We love going to Center Parcs and so does our lo, so much for her to do there. I dont think its too expensive but we signed up for their email newsletter and they are always sending us emails offering money off, sometimes up to 40% off. I'd definitely recommend it.

I was at CP in Longleat last week with DH and our 2 yrs DD. We all had a wonderful time. There is so much to do and see! The swimming was amazing and DD had to be dragged away. She really liked just being in a trailer on the back of DH's bike and thought that was so funny. There are loads of play areas and activities to do you are bound to love it.

It is expensive but I'd rather go there less often than anywhere else now! You can quote family when booking to get 20% on some of the dates too.

I would choose CP every time.  We went in June with our DS who was 21 months at the time.  My DH  did 2 activities, we took DH's bike and hired one with a trailer for me.  We took food with us for lunches and dinner for 2 evenings - however next time I would buy sandwiches/baguettes daily in the shop and then take them in to the pool with are with us to eat later.  I also would buy the dinner for the 2 evening meals in the shop on site as it wasn't any mroe expensive than in the supermarket at home and then you don't have to transport it or leave it in a hot car (if you get there early you can't get on to site until later in the afternoon to unpack and the car got very hot iykwim)  To make it a bit cheaper I have heard that you can use tesco club card points (converted into deals) to pay for meals in the italian on site.  Also shop around for a discount code, we did and saved 30%.  Have a good time!

As pp said things can get quite expensesive when you are there, but with a then 3 and 1 yr old they won't be doing a huge amount of activities.  If you go in September there are lots of lovely woodland walks you can take, cycling (either bring your own or hire) the swimming pool is free and you could spend hours in there. There are also a number of soft play areas and adventure playgrounds. Also not sure where you are thinking of going but Sherwood and Whinfell both have beaches so you could go there also.

Eating out is not too expensive most places do a set meal for kids for 4.95 with starter, main and dessert and unlimited juices and most places have free jars of foods for babies.  Pizza place also does takeaway. The supermarkets are pretty well stocked and I haven't found them to be all that more expensive that local shops.

Only downside to CP is that unlike Haven there is really no evening entertainment other than paying for a show, allthough Sherwood does have a kiddies disco from 6-8 (mine love it), not sure about others tho.  CP also has a babysitting service (highly reccomend) for £5.50ph so you and DP could go out once kids are in bed.

All in all I would choose CP everytime and have been as a couple for 8yrs and a family for 3.  Try a few websites, including CP's as there are often a no of discount codes to be found try SAVER and FAMILY.

the good thing about the parks are that you can make your own fun in ht eoootdoors, get bikes and ride all day. the fun pool is free so you can go evey day and kids love it, walks round the lakes and rest of park, ootdoor play areas and indoors areas too... all the acitiviteis are quite pricey but you dont have to do them! you can take your own shopping for the week too. eating out isnt that expensive really but the little supermarket can be. we go twice a year and take some food and eat out and stuff but just have a fab time being with our little boy and wandering round and swimming and stuff
