my dd has cystic fibrosis so my partner and i have the flu jab each year. my dd has it and so do my mum and dad and partners mum and step dad. we all have it for free.do have to explain every year mind that we all want it because of dd being high risk and some doc a little funny about letting us all have it.

i think all kid with any kind of chest problem are entilted to have it and thier main careers. think it beacuse children with chest problems are concidered high risk if they get flu. i would ask you gp for it for all of you if i was you. after all it only one jab a year.

My dd2 is having the flu jab for the reasons you described, however I am not entitled to it and the drs won't vaccinate dd2 or dh. It might vary from surgery to surgery though so it's worth asking.

I would get the advice of your GP, if you give them a ring you might be able to have a word over the phone. They will have all your lo's notes to refer to and they can tell you what is best. I have heard there is a nasty strain on its way so well worth checking. DH gets one because he has CFS but I didn't know children could get it (dont know why I thought that!!) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Because of his astma i would say yes, they think there is a nasty flu virus coming from australia,so if he in the at risk group i would get him done.

    Hi ladies

My boy is 3 in October and has to use an inhaler when he has a cold due to having mild astma, he has never had an attack (thank god).

My husband gets the flu jab because he used to have astma (with attacks) and only has tightening now when he gets a cold.  He also used to have it because his younger brother is special needs.  Do you think my boy should have the jab?  And do you think I should have the jab?  I was listening to This Morning and the Dr on there said from 6months to 3 years children are eilgable for a free vaccine, which got me thinking.

    What do you all think?
