I think you've done the right thing going straight for proper pants.  A friend of mine at work has been having real trouble potty training his son as his wife keeps putting their boy in pull-up nappies.  Apparantly he is great with the potty if he has nothing on but as soon as they put pants on he assumes it's safe to go!

welll i feelin like i have gone right in at the deep end we not bothering with pull ups as dont want to confuse him but he seems a lot happier with things today and is not getin upset. ma ds is two and 7 months and i am havin a baby in jan so  i wanted to get him toilet trained before baby comes so as not to throw lots of new things in all at once.

any tips would be great
