What daily routines/activites help children to be aware of their own bodies....

Daily physical activity, access to outdoor areas and different climbing equipment etc. Singing and taking part in action songs and dances

List some songs and story books that support childrens awareness...

5 little monkeys, sleeping bunnies, here we go round the mulberry bush (cleaning teeth, brushing hair etc) and other action songs that provide an opportunity to develop their physical skills. Also good to allow children to develop and make up their own sings and rhymes to follow this on.

    Hope that all helps Verity!

I was a bit annoyed with the teacher about the comment made to Lissy, her usual teacher was away so it was the student teacher taking the class (she is in her final year so its ok for her to do that apparently). She did not say anything to me when I collected Lissy which she could have done.

I know how you struggle when Johnny gets coughs, it is the same with Lissy, she has had humidifier in her room for last 2 nights and has been having her inhalor regularly. I always worry that it will develop into a nasty chest infection again.

I have just read your post lou... "girls with bad coughs should not go to school if they are going to cough all through carpet time"

I think thats awful, that has obviously come froma treacher or TA, if they had issue with the cough the should have spoken to you first, no put that in her mind... I would be furious over that.

BUT that said, john also has the cough too now..... started last night. JOY OF JOYS... and you all know what problems i have when he gets coughs and stuff. so not looking forward to the next few days.

Anyway im loving doing my course, really enjoying do the theory and a research.

You guys can help me... I need some songs and stories to help me write about body awarness...

This is what the assignment reads.

What daily routines/activites help children to be aware of their own bodies

    And

List some songs and story books that support childrens awareness

I EXPECT LOU TO HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS TO THIS ....LOL

Hi Gill, I remember having days off lower school when heating broke - thought it was the best thing ever!

Lissy has the cough thing going on too. And Holly seems to have developed it today too. It is constant and much as I love them it is driving me insane!

When Lissy came out of school yesterday she said "little girls with bad coughs should not go to school if they are going to cough all through carpet time". Wonder where she heard that?! So I have kept her home today although she is fine in herself.

Hope they both better in time for our weekend at centre parks - we had planned to spend most of the time in the pool, but cant do that if they are coughing and snotty...

Anyone know any quick cough remedies for kids?

Hi I am here, I am once again under my old screen name as my internet access has been playing up and wont let me log in under 2 beautiful girls - dont ask me why!

Things are really good with us, I have been inundated with people looking for a childminder and it is really hard to say no! I am hopefully meeting with a lady with a tiny baby, looking for a part time place in April. Fingers crossed!

Lissy has an annoying cough, keeping us awake at night - although she sleeps through it! I had all Hollys hair cut into a "suri cruise" bob last week - it looks sooooooo cute!

We are off to centre parks on friday - cant wait!

    Dont mention the diet.....

How are you all? We NEED to see pics of jonny in the tights Verity! Lissy not been told what she is doing yet, although we have got the dates! I love this time of year.

How are you doin Jen? Any decision on the bathroom/bedroom decorating debate?

Where is Gill?Hi if you are around!

Hiya.  Good luck on the course, Verity.  I'm very impressed, there's no way I'd have the moitivation to do any more study right now.

And well done to Nathaniel for staying dry at night!  I forgot to put Alex's nappy on the other night, and he woke up totally soaked, pjs, sheet, duvet, the lot!  He must have wet several times, but slept through it blissfully unaware!  I have no chance of getting him dry at night in the forseeable future!

Tired and fed up today.  Not liking my job again.  Wish I could have just stayed at home.  Boo hoo!

Sorry you're down, Gill.  I do think this awful weather isn't helping.  Can you go shopping for a new jug?  A bit of retail therapy usually cheers me up.

Good news that Jonnie is coping OK with his patch.  Fingers crossed it does what it's supposed to quicky.

How are you and the gilrs, Lou?  When do you start with your new child?

Don't ask about tax credits, Lou.  Too fed up to bore you with the details!  Had a reasonable day at work though, finally.  Was getting a bit miserable about the new job but maybe that was a bit premature.  Actually looking forward to going back in on Weds!

    Right, food, wine, book!

(snowman icon because it's freezing here!)

i don really want to do it at school. cos i dont want him being worried about it.

also his depth perception is also a bit out when he is wearing it.  so would worry about him bumping into things.

i hoping if it works that it will then have had no impact on his school life.

((HUGS)) Verity.  But do you think the patch needs to stay out of school?  When I picked Alex up the other day I heard a mum asking her daughter what time she took the patch off, and the girl said after lunch, so obviously a similar situation.  And I guess this goes on in schools.  Could you talk to the teacher?  Obviously if it's going to cause problems for Jonnie than I agree do it at home, but you might find the other kids don't really react to it, or just ask a lot of questions without it being a particular problem.

Either way, hope it is only 6 weeks for you both.

    xx
