Aww, Lou, I'm sure he didn't mean that to be as callous as it sounds. Men just aren't good at articulating themselves. He was probably more thinking of the drudgery of work, commuting, balancing finances etc. Let's face it, we all find these things uphill. You probably make it all a bit better for him!
Well done on the music group, Gill, glad it went well. And an inspired idea on the name, too!
What's going on with Jonnie's eyes, V? I've just spottedn your FB status. How long will he need a patch for? And is it both eyes (obviously I appreciate it'll be one at a time!). Hope you are OK and over all your ills.
Well, sure enough I spoke to soon and Alex came home from school yesterday and was sick everywhere, plus a runny bum! Oh, the joys! Still, he's been fine today and Ro and I have been fine (although I have terrible wind!
so perhaps a good thing I'm single tonight!!)6/11/08 10:03
What a great name Gill! Hope you are feeling better now, was it a sickness bug?
Lissy came out of school yesterday and told me Joshua had been sick all over the floor next to her, but she moved her legs out of the way just in time. I was horrified and made her strip off as soon as she got in the house! (Verity will understand this, I hope!) I am praying she does not get it......
Steve got back on Monday eve and both girls were in bed, but lIssy crept into our bed earl on Tue and gave hime a huge cuddle. Holly is not bothered either way! It is nice(ish!) to have him back, but after worrying about how I would cope I actually enjoyed the freedom and the fact that any mess was down to me and the girls. Will have to get him to go away more often!
He did really upset me last night though, I said I wished I could have a weekend in the sun on my own and he said that its not good because you get used to how crap your life is, then you go away and when you get back it all seems even crapper. nice. I was really angry that he thought that way about our life.

Hi guys. Sorry you haven't been well, V. I think Lou is right, you just build up an immunity to these bugs over time. I do think having the boys at nursery helped as neither have really been ill yet this winter. Eek, did I just jinx myself there?
Lou, how's life with Steve back? Did the girls miss him?
Alex went to school surprisingly well yesterday. It's breakfast club on a Monday which he does not like, but he took it without complaint. Hopefully a good sign that he's getting used to it.
Hope things OK with you, Gill. Busy as always, I'm sure!
Finally finished painting the walls in my lounge! Now onto the woodwork. Sigh. It never ends!

yeah i do get the flu jab.... due to have it next week...............
typical
jonny was dead pleased to be going to school today. I must be really boring. LOL

Sorry Verity - no amazing ways to prevent you getting bugs from the kids. I seem to have built up an immunity now (but I have been working with kids since 1994!!) Do you have the flu jab? Steve has asthma and suffers with really bad chet infections every winter, but last 3 years he has been having the flu jab and it has really made a difference.
Was so nice to wave Lissy off into school today! She was ready to go back!

Hi all,
Sounds like you had a great time Lou.
Im feeling slighty better now thank god. I think im more prone to these things cos im asthamic, and suffer quite badly with it in the winter, seem to get one cold after the other, and now in working in the preschool i suppose i will pick up allsorts of stuff. Any tips on helping prevent this Lou.
Hows everyone else doing, Are we already for going back to school tomorrow ???
Im not, its 9.20pm and havent evening ironed Jonny's polo shirts yet. Im hoping that when i wake up tomorrow there will be one in the wardrobe that doesnt need it. LOL

Hi all, hope everyone had a nice weekend? We are surviving 4 days witrhout steve - he is on a stag do in portugal. We went to stay with some friends in northampton last night, was really fun - we all went swimming and then had a yummy dinner before packing the kids off to bed.
Unfortunately Holly was really unsettled and ended up in bed with me all night. She was totally overexcited and kept calling out and sitting up asking where lissy was.
So today we been having a lazy day, holly had a nap and lssy and i been watching silly kids tv and making crowns and wands.
Life is good.

Hi ladies, how are you feeling verity? Better I hope, antibiotics should kick in soon. Do you get chest infections regularly, as Jen said, you have had a really rough time last few months.
Hows things with you Gill? Have you named your music group yet? I have still been thinking about names!
LOL at the boys in the bath Jen - typical males to have an obsession with their penis so early on! My girls bath together and just manage to make the whole room soaking - although lissy did call out to me in amazement once when she found a "hole she could put her finger right up".....

Family are coming to do the paperwork for Jack this afternoon, they are so nice it is such a relief. It is actually nice to be looking after boys instead of girls, and in a way I think it is better for my girls iykwim?
We are all enjoying half term - girls have been good fun (except for Holly using my clinique lipstick to decorate the lounge wall, radiator, carpet and herself this morning!)
Steve is off on a stag do this weekend so I am taking the girls to stay with my friend in Northampton. We are having some sparklers and a party tea, and then when kids are in bed we are having a bottle of wine and a takeaway! Steve cant understand why I am not moaning about him going away - LOL!!!

hi ladies
hope your feeling a bit better verity
28/10/08 19:51
Oh no, Verity, poor you. Have you got some strong antibiotics? You seem to have had quite a rough ride recently. Hope you can kick this one quickly.
Hope everyone else is OK. We've been busy, went to see my friend and her new baby yesterday, then today family stuff and a run. Tomorrow back at work. Boo!
Tonight in the bath the boys were chucking water at each other, naming the body parts they hit. Alex splashed Ro's willy, and Ro said, 'kiss my willy' which they both thought was hilarious. Erm, time for separate baths, maybe?!
28/10/08 19:33
well as suspected i have a mega chest infection.
Hope everyone is enjoying the half term break and our respective kids are behaving.
Have the new family been to sign there forms yet lou.
27/10/08 20:42
thats great news lou
26/10/08 19:42
thats brilliant new lou.
26/10/08 19:34
Yeah, Lou! Great news, well done.
26/10/08 13:01
FANTASTIC NEWS>>>>>>>> had a visit fromt eh family who called on Friday and they have asked me to promise to keep their place! They are coming back to sign the paperwork one afternoon this week! Full time place for their (very cute) 6 month old baby.
I dont need anymore children now as that will make me enough money to be comfortable!
24/10/08 20:34
HI all - more good news! The lady who called me earlier today asking for 2 days a week, actually wants full time! Just been on phone to her for half an hour and she is coming to visit with her husband on Sunday! Sounds really promising and gives me a valid reason for saying no to the other family. YAY!!!

Just got to decide if I should have kids here or send them out - they not on best behaviour when we have people here and dont want them to ruin it, but dont want it to look too obvious that i sent them out! May introduce a new "every Sunday they go swimming with daddy" routine!
Keep everythig crossed for me!
Oh, and great idea about toddler groups Jen - I am on it! (And I will be buying that book!)
Hope you feel better after a weekend of tlc V. That means NO working!

im sooo gutted. jonnys left eye has become really weak and we are having to patch the right eu]ye needs patching for 2 hours everyday for a minimum of 6 weeks. then if that doesnt work then i dont know what will happen.
lucky at the moment i can do it when he comes out of school. . you can imagine the struggle i had to get hime to wear it tonight... we were both crying it was awful.... i cant bare the thought of him going to school with a patch.
ive worked out that if the worse some to the worse i can get 4 hours of patching in out of school hours.
