Hang in there, Lou, all these problems are going to disappear soon!  I do think that some people who childmind are excellent and really into the kids, but others clearly do it to earn enough money to be able to stay at home and aren't really that interested in the kids.  That's why I picked a day nursery.  But if your childminder can't put Holly first, then I think you are well within your rights to tell her to stick it.  What's she going to do?  Sue you over 2 weeks, hardly likely!  You're paying her so you can go to work, and if she can't make her day work around your child's needs, causing you to stay at home, she isn't doing her job.

Right, off the soap box!  Just got back from a parents presentation at Alex's school, all about the foundation year and how it is structured.  Really interested, but goodness, I would not want to be a reception teacher!!

Also been for a long run tonight.  2 min walk, 15 min run, repeat.  My legs really ache, and it's the first time I've really felt it on the same day, so goodness knows what I'll be like tomorrow!  Probably hobbling around like some geriatric!  Oh well, at work so at least no kids to run around after!

i agree with steve... she is breaking the terms and condtions of her contract by not giving holly her usual sleep.

Lissy is back at school, went back yesterday and was fine. (Although she does still have a bit of a temp)

I was back at work yesterday BUT today my childminder is being a total b i t c h. Holly has a BIT of a cold (nothing drastic) and when I told cm she said that she had a really busy day lined up with toddler group, swimming lessons and then another toddler group and so would be out of the house from 9 until 4. Therefore Holly would not get her usual daily sleep, so maybe I should keep her home.

It's funny cos I though I paid her 90% of my salary to CARE for Holly, not to drag her around all day as part of her social life! So yet again I am off work today - my boss is going to go mad.

Why is life never simple??? I still have 2 more weeks of the notice period to pay, but steve says we should tell her we are not paying as she has been so inflexible and is actually breaking her contract by not allowing Holly to have a sleep as we requested when we started with her.

    AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks ladies, Lissy still hs temp of 100, although she is jumping around living room and eating me out of house and home! Holly has had a loose tummy and is very grumpy and before she went to sleep i noticed a few blister type spots on her.... chickenpox would be icing on my cake this week believe me!!!

Had a tetchy email from my boss, tomorrow will be fun. Cant wait to finish believe me! Although Ofsted have still not competed my registration as a childminder as they are waiting for a form from the local council. They been waitin since 8 August and not chased it up. Grrrr. Until they cmoplete their paperwork I cannot advertise or join NCMA etc.

Good for you with the running Jen, do you do it alone? And you have done loads more than I would even try around the house already, so dont beat yourself up. Yes I am still on to meet up, although may need to re-arrange the day. Holly has swimming on a thurs lunchtime so what other days are you off? Will be good to moan (and chat) in "real life".

Hugs, Lou, hope you and the girls are feeling better soon.  And Verity's right, I know it's hard but don't let your boss stress you out.  It goes to show you've defnitely done the right thing in leaving if this is how the treat you.  Just look forward to the next venture!

Hey, aren't we meeting up next week?  Or is it the one after?  Something nice to look forward to, anyway.  Although I can't gaurantee what sort of company I'll be.  I started my new job last Weds and am a tad stressed about it!  Plus the house is driving me mad.  Trying to fit skirting boards, but I just can't do it.  I'm obviously too girly!  And now my airing cupboard is leaking (god only knows where from) so I have a plumber coming out later.  More expense.  Sigh.

Still running though.  Got 2 bouts of 15 mins on Thursday.  Eek!

    aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh! God I am STRESSED!

Had to take yesterday off as Lissy poorly - temp, runny nose, croaky voice etc. Had to go and get Holly at lunchtime too as she was the same.

Steve was meant to take today off, but at last minute decided he couldnt so here I am again! My boss was so off with me yesterday and I had promised her that I would be back today, so she is gonna be awful when I speak to her. Cant wait to finish so I can feel like I am not being torn in 2.

    Want to cry.

Hi all, sun is shining here too which is great. Girls both have stinky colds and lots of snot so are very grumpy so today we decided to hire out a couple of bikes and a kiddie trailer and get some much needed fresh air. Went 6 miles - with me pulling both the girls along! Legs are aching now - but in a good way, We are now looking to buy one of those trailer thingies so we can get out on our bikes even more. How healthy are we?!?!

7 more working days and then I am going to be working for myself! Think I may end up havin to stay at home tomorrow too as Lissy sounds awful with her cold. Bless her!

I also make sure the kids are not around when I am doing "women stuff" Lissy caught me once too Verity and although she did not get upset she did ask lots of question and then announced to all the pre school teachers and kids that "mummy has a poorly bottom - its bleeding EVERYWHERE!!!!" To make matters worse, I was standing next to her when she said it.

    Kids- gotta love em!

if i'm on then i'll make sure the kids are not about other than that i don't get much peace when i'm in the bathroom i am having to start explaining to my eldest as she has started to develop and i didn't want her to come on and be really scared but hasn't really taken any of it in so time will tell

its sunny here to which is very nice

Hiya.  How is everyone?  Hope it is nice and sunny for you all, it's looking like being another nice day here.  I've got a boy free weekend, so am trying to do some DIY in the house.  Have done a bit more painting, and need to fit some skirting board.  Mind you, that might just prove to be a bit much for me!  Will have a look at it today.

Alex had his first cinema trip yesterday!  Chris took him to see the Bee movie, or something, in the morning whilst I hung onto Rowan for a bit longer.  Had to take Ro shoe shopping as nursery lost his shoes!  Bugger.  Anyway, he'd gone up half a size, so at least I didn't feel it was money completely wasted.

lol, Verity, did that really need saying twice, though?!  I did laugh at your comment about John Snr though!  I must admit then when I'm 'on' I try to nip off to the loo on my own, when the boys are distracted.  I wouldn't want them asking questions about that.  I don't even think girls of that age need to be too aware of those particular body issues!  Let them enjoy their ignorance for a few more years, before being hit with puberty, pregnancy, child bearing, and as if all that isn't insulting enough, the menopause.  Oh joy, men really do get it easy!!
