I had three drainages in 8weeks due to Polyhydramnios

I went into labour a week after the third one. Its not too bad just try to relax when its being done and it'll be over before you know it.

    Hi,

I had polyhydramnious during my first pregnancy 6yrs ago with our son, which was caused by a condition he had called T.O.F tracheo oesophagial fistula (have they checked for this ?)

Had drain at 28weeks pretty painless and felt like i was floating afterwards, fluid does build up again quite quickly  (so put your feet up and rest lots).

Went into labour 2weeks later and had our little boy who weighed 2lb6oz ,had a long stay in SCBU due to other complications and he came home weighting 6lb1oz.

Anyway back to drain really nothing to worry about doesn’t hurt and is over fairly quickly, take someone in with you to keepyou chatting.

Hi I had polyhydramnios with dd2 (now 11 months). She was delivered by emcs (under general anaesthetic) at 35 weeks and weighed 5lb 90z. She was born at 10.26am and was with me until 1am the following day then she had to go to neonatal for 36 hours. She kept having blue/dusky episodes and needed suction to clear her airways of fluid. Apparently this is quite common in babies from mums with polyhydramnios just due to the excessive fluid.

When your bubs is born just keep an eye on them for any signs of going blue/gagging or choking - particularly in the first 24 hours.

You should be fine though chick. Leah's 11 months now and has no lasting effects from being early or the polyhydramnios. She's crawling, babbling, pulling herself up on teh furniture - everything you'd expect at this age.

Just take it easy and try not to worry. HTH but if you want to chat feel free to PM me or email at loumiller79@hotmail.co.uk xx

    Hi

I have been told i have the above and that i will almost certainly have my baby early.  I will probably need to be drained of at least 2 litres of amniotic fluid anytime in the next month which could bring on the onset of labour.  Has anyone had this in previous pregnancies and if so how many weeks were you when you had baby?  I am 29 + 2 today due 14 July and very scared!!
