my DD was on nutriprem 2 till she was 2, didn't really help her gain much more weight than she probably would have if she was on a normal milk. really gave her bad skin though so was glad when she came off it.

Thanks, i really should think about that. I'm only 4ft 11in so i guess her height is something to do with me as well.

she may just be petite aswell, something to keep in mind!

my dd was exactly the same and on nutriprem 2 until a year old then cows milk. shes now 3 1/2 and has never been a big eater, she is very petite and underweight for her age but not for her height! she has never reached a normal centile and I dont think she ever will.

Ok thanks guys, just being over anxious i guess. I suppose it's better for her to have the milk and gain weight if the doc thinks it's best. Think i need to stop worrying so much.

My twin girls were born at 29 weeks.  They were on Nutriprem 2 until they were 9 months uncorrected and then on cow & gate stage 3 and infatrini.  They have just turned one and only weigh 15lb and 16lb.  They only eat pureed food even though weaned since 6 months, due to genetic condition.  No one seems too worried though.

I don't understand this as THeo is 7 months old tomorrow and weighs 13.5lb. He has been on regular shop bought milk since before even being discharge in january. and The doctors all say he is doing well. But he is about the same as KAiya just a month older. I would not worry about it, at the end of the day you cannot force feed a baby nor can you starve one, they will soon tell you how they feel. Plus Theo's hospital friend Kieran when we saw him only weighed 8.5lb at 6 months and doctors were happy with him, so maybe you just have a very precautious doctor. sorry if that is not very coherent, not very good at writing as i think of it x x

Nope, she just said to continue with the prem milk and then intorduce cows when she turns 1. She's weaned now and i'm introducing finger foods but she struggles to coordinate and get it into her mouth. I brought some dairylea triangles the other day to try her with and see if she can eat them but knowing my luck she'll just squish it.

forgot to add we used to put cheese, cream or butter in all his food to give him extra calories. he was never given duocal powder or similar to put in his milk/food like some babies Have you been offered that to help with calorie intake?

YOUR NOT ALONE.  ds was born at 26 weeks 1lb 4oz and ws on nutriprem 2 till he was 1 and then went on to intafrini till he was about 2 and then on to full fat cows milk. He has never touched a centile line and still is below now at age 4 years old. if the dr says they need such milk so be it. its what they need and is the best thing you can give them. ds eats well and if fit and healthy. he is just a very active dinky boy. try not to worry about it. there is nothing wrong with giving them such milk.

Kaiya was born at 32 weeks due to me developing servere pre-eclampsia, anyway friday just gone she had her 6 month check at the hospital and was we were looking forward to them giving her the all clear and to say she's putting on weight well, but when i got their they told me that although she's putting on weight she's still really underweight and will have to stay on nutriprem till she's 1 then move over to cows milk. I felt really upset as i though her weight was doing so well, ( she's around 13lb ) she is still only on the 9th centile.  I was just wondering if there was anyone else who's lo have to or did stay on nutriprem till they were 1. Feel a bit of a faliure that i can't help her put on more weight. She is fully weaned but only has about 2-3 small cubes of food at each meal and can only tolerate 4-5oz of milk at her bottles feeds. Please tell me i'm not the only one.
