I hope that you are still holding onto little one!

I had my little boy in November last year at 23 weeks and 1 day...hes done amazingly well. They call it 'viability' and a baby under 24 weeks is not considered 'viable' , in some hospitals 23 weeks isnt either. We were given a 10% chance of survival.

We've had a lot of ups and downs, just working our way through a down at the moment, after spending 2 weeks in Manchester Childrens hospital..but there is hope and my little boy is living proof of it. He has a website if you'd like to see..www.totsites.com/tot/reecetiger

    good luck.

i feel hopeful and hearing positive things is helping so much , its so lovely to hear that others have been in my shoes and come through it fighting and winning . i know that babies are surviving younger and younger these days and i just hope and pray that my baby will decide to stay put for a while longer .

its funny i can almost imagine baby being late after all this thats ironic type of things that happen to me . my last was nearly 2 weeks early and all the way through i was told she wasn't growing and was 8 weeks behind in her growth and would be lucky to be born weighing around 5 pounds and she weighed 8lb 3oz . i just hope this works out the same .

    hi

I went into labour at 22 weeks and was 2 to 3 cm dilated. They put the stitch in and gave me steriods for babys lungs, the stitch didnt hold for long and my son was born at 24 +6. They told me he probably wouldnt be able to survive, then they said he wouldnt survive the night. However he has just gone 6 months old and is doing fab although he is on oxygen.

its a heartbreaking time going into prem labour and I can only imagine what you must be feeling and thinking. I cant remember a lot about mine from first being told i was in labour to giving birth, I seem to have blocked out everything and all the feelings but im sending you hugs and best wishes x

they said as im only a cm and didn't progress any further over 24 hours that they would wait and see. if i get any pains etc i have to go back in and then if its any more dilated  they will consider putting in a stitch .

hiya i was 3cm dilated at 23weeks, i got told i couldnt get a stitch put in as my cervix was too far open. if ur cervix is only about a cm are they not gettin u stitched?? anyways i had my baby at 3.46am at exactly 26weeks. i got told at 23weeks they wanted to keep me in on bedrest until my due date - i had an 8month old baby to look after so after 2weeks i discharged myself. some might argue i was wrong to put my baby at such big risks but i knew it wa the right thing to do. try and take it easy love, i no how hard it is and if u ever need to talk pm me. im on most days. tc luv and stuffs 2 u n bubs XxXxX

*** class="mva"> *** class="bull">hi have just done some research for you. the earliest baby to ever survive was born at 21+6 weeks weighing just under 10oz. the survival rates according to the bbc are: *** class="mva"> *** class="bull">23 weeks - 26%***> *** class="bull">

    24 weeks - 47%

    25 weeks - 67%

i know it probably isn't much comfort, but remember everyday your baby stays inside you your babies chance are better and better, i hope everything works out for you, it must be such a stressful time for you. i had my son at 27 weeks and even though there was talk of early delivery it never sunk in so i did not think about it. also they will give you steroid injection to mature your baby lungs, just in case, which gives your baby the best chance possible. i also know that the bliss website has a brilliant forum, it seems to have a lot more mums who had extremely early babies who could offer you support. sorry i cannot be more help, i am not very good at this sort of thing, but wanted to say something. my thoughts are with you x x

    Hi to all of you.

i had a severe abdonimal trauma 4 weeks ago and im now nearly 22 weeks .l was told monday that my cervix has started open its just about a cm. I have been tols to take it really easy. i haven't had  any strong or regular pains . but for the last 4 weeks since the trauma i have had lower back and thigh pain and period type pains every few days or so . i have got to try and keep this baby in and safe as long as i can .doctors fear my placenta breaking up due to the trauma it may be weak . but unless it stays there for a good few weeks i am certain baby wont make it .

How early can a baby be and survive ?  has anyone had a baby really really early .. how many weeks can my baby come and have a good chance of surviving .. does anyone know ?

I have 3 other kids all girls earliest was 2 weeks early she weighed 5 lb 2 oz the other 2 were just over a wek early and weighed 7 lb 5 oz and 8 lb 3 oz .

i really am worrying myself . please if you have any advice I would be so greatful.

    Lorna
