HI Michelle, My niece was born at 27 weeks and had ROP in both her eyes. She was having regular checks and her right eye repaired itself really quickly but there were some concerns over her left. When she was 6 months old she went for her eye test and it had rectified itself completely! She 1 now and her eyes are absolutely fine.
She had a few struggles when she was born, bowel infections, blood transfusion etc etc but was home at 10 weeks old and is now doing brilliantly.
Hope your lo gets stronger and stronger every day xx

hi thanks for asking. i just browse through the threads but not a whole lot to report on adam, except that he is gaining at an incredible rate now on the low birth weight formula. he's now 2 lbs. 10 oz. and he's so adorable (if i may say so myself) lol he will most likely need a hernia repair sometime in the future but it's not too bad and he's got stage 1 and 2 rop in his eyes so they are keeping a close watch but said it's nothing to be concerned with at the moment. he's had his 7th blood transfusion last week and this week he is very pink!!! thank god all these problems are fairly small in the big scheme of things so i'm really really pleased and so are the doctorss and nurses. he spends probably half the day off of his cpap which is great but i'm getting so impatient i want to see that mask off him for good!! my friend just sent me a load of baby stuff and preemie clothes from america so excited about that, they are adorable. the health visitor is coming on the 29th the have an initial chat with me about when he comes home, etc. so starting to get prepared mentally for his arrival home. can't wait!!!! thanks again. take care. love, michele x
