My 2 were both on CPAP and had their NGT's in their noses.

During his time on CPAP Theo had his feeding tube down his throat, how do they get the CPAP to fit tight enough with a feeding tube as well? THeo used to froth and make bubbles all the time and even gag with it down his throat, and be always pulling it out but the nurses said that its the best thing to do. I know its not really relevant but i am surprised, unless i have misunderstood. I used to hate him having it down his throat and was so relieved when he finally came off CPAP and it went down his nose.

hi sarah, my little boy's left nostril does not attach at the bottom, it's like a tunnelling where a tube may have been, but his feeding tubes are changed all the time cause he's on thickener and they get blocked, plus he pulls them out!!  he's been on cpap for about 7 weeks but nearly off now and the nurses say it is due to that and they have reassured me that it will fill in.  i thought it almost looked like mild cleft palate or something, it really worried me.  i hope it repairs itself.  keep us posted.  thanks.  michele x

My daughter's right nostril is very out of shape and she's 14 months now. The NGT was pulled at an angle by her ventilator and the indent is still there. I am hoping that as she gets bigger it wil get less obvious.

im sure it will go back to normal hun.  I can't say i've noticed that with Georgia but if she is sick a tiny bit it always comes out of her right nostril which is where the feeding tube was, so I think it made her hole bigger in her nose. But at 10 wks it doesn't happen anymore so I think in time your lo's nostril will go like the other one xxx
