my little girl was born at 33 weeks she weighed 4ib 10 oz! she had 2 stay in the nnu at the hospital just untill she could feed from a bottle as she was only feeding thru a tube! she came home 3 weeks later! i thought how small she wud ov bin but when i seen her it wasnt as shocking as i thought she was fully formed just a bit smaller than normal its actually quite cute but i understand how much ov a worry it is ill post some recent pics ov her soon as i can she is just the same as the rest her age now if not bigger an she is so clever she puts me to shame they do catch up just takes bit more time xx

i was in hospital at 32 weeks 1cm dialated buling membrains lost my show had a slight bleed ds had been engaged since 29 weeks fully since 30 weeks n CTG showed contractions every 8 mins n the top of the contractions was between 60-90 (just wish my real contractions had been that week! the bit between my contractions was 60-80 n the scale didnt go high enough 2 measure how strong thet were!) but i didnt progress n eventualy everything stopped n the registra n mw said 1-1 1/2 weeks, 2 at n absolout maximum but wold be very shocked if i got that far n ds waters broke n i went in2 labour at 34+1 weeks! ds was 4lb 6oz n dd was 4lb 3oz n they spent 15 days in scbu

keep them legs crossed n keep that baby cooking! i had a scare at 23+6 weeks n they gave me steroids n mil threatend 2 sew me shut 2 keep the babies in! lol!

ah sam,dont worry honey,they are so much stronger than you think,look at me,isabelles doin so so well and the staff at my hosp have been so good (apart from 1 lady,but forget about her)

ended up in hosp yesterday

theyve confirmed eys im in labour, but coz its slow n cervix is still closed 4 now theyve sent me home 2 keep my legs crossed lol.

cervix has moved forward n is soft tho.

they didnt giv me time frame but pretty much sent me off sayin "see you soon" so its nayones guess lol

hi i have had 2 prem babies my first son was born at 34 weeks(he is now 7 rs old and one of the tallest in his class) and my second son (who has just turned 1yrs now weighs over 28lb)was born at exactly 33 weeks he breathed on his own from the start and was in an open top cot from day 2 he had jaundice which was treated with the light treatment and took his time to regulate his own temp.He was tube fed for about 7-8 days then as he developed the sucking reflex he was introduced to bottles and did very well the nurses would call him a big softy as he had his heated mattress on for a while while some of the smaller babies didnt need one he wore clothes from day 2 and both my boys were in exactly 19 days each good luck and hope everything goes ok love claire

my little girl was born at 29 weeks and only need 2 days of vent and she was on cpap for about 6 weeks she was 1lb 14oz born shes now 16 weeks old and is 6lb 9oz and she is doing great she was in hosp for 9 weeks.

Kaiya was born at 32 weeks by emergancy c-section ( weighing 3lb 12oz ) as i developed severe pre-eclampsia. She spend 24hrs in NICU and had a drip in her hand as they don't feed for the first 24hrs, she was in an incubator whilst in NICU after 24hrs because she was breathing on her own (  from the moment she was born ) she was transfered to SCBU and was put on a hot cot and tube fed. She was fully clothed in SCBU as they are beds not incubators and also had blankets, i tried to breast feed a few days after she was born but she just couldn't latch on so eventully she was bottle fed with expressed milk as well as tube fed. She was able to come out of SCBU after a week and because i was still poorly i was on the special ward as well so she came to me but still on hot cot and tube in nose, after about 2 weeks they turned off her hot cot to see how she'd cope and she managed to control her temp so she was transfered into a normal cot. After a few more days we started to up her bottle feeds and lessen the tube feeds so she could go home, she was home after 20 days and i tended to tube feed at night to not tire her so much. The tube was removed when she was 2 months old and she's gone from strength to stength, she's now 9 months old and weighs 15lb 5oz she's just had her 8 month check and passed with flying colours, gp said she's practically caught up with children her age which is brill. Most babies born after 32 weeks do really well i know it's hard especially as you already have another at home but don't feel gulity or bad if bubs is born early it will be in the best hands possible. HTH

At 32+ weeks babies tend to do very well when born, though obviously every baby is different and has different needs.
 I dont know if you've had steroids to help babies lungs in case its born now.

At this stage baby might need some help breathing though many need hardly any help. This can vary from needing ventilation to just needing c-pap to not needing any help at this stage.

Baby will most likely spend a little bit of time in an incubator at 32 weeks. As soon as baby can manage to keep the body temperature up they will move to a cot.

Baby will most likely be tube fed to start with until bottle or breastfeeding can be established. Mostly this means that just after birth they start on a drip and slowly milk is introduced.

Baby will spend some time in SCBU/NICU.

All of this will depend on how far along you are and how well baby is doing. To give a bit of an indication my son was born at 30+2 weighing 4lb , was on c-pap for 10 hours just to have a rest after birth, was in an incubator for 2 weeks, in a cot for another 2 and came home after 29 days in SCBU fully breastfed weighing 5lb.

My daughter was born at 28+5 weeks weighing 2lb 11, was on cpap, then ventilated for a few hours to get surfactant into her lungs and then back on cpap in the first 30 hours of her life and did all her own breathing since. She was in an incubator for 4 1/2 weeks and in a cot for another 2 1/2. She came home after 47 days in SCBU weighing 3lb 10 and breastfeeding though we're now on bottles.

been in early labour over a week now. im 32+1. with dd i was in early labour for 3 weeks until she arrived at 38 weeks. mw doesnt think il c 36 weeks this time. tbh form teh way she was talkin she doesnt think il make 34 weeks she jsut doenst want to say it.

i dont even know what my baby will be like if born now or 34 weeks etc. if it'll wear clothes, b on ventilator, cpap etc its #3 for me and im a doula yet have never felt so helpless in my life. i ahve no idea wot 2 expect and i hate knowig theres nothin i can do.

i know im not there yet like most of you but was jsut hopin some of you could tell me what to expect.
