I've had my dinner now so can post properly. I'm so glad to hear you have embies on board. You are so going to be following Jo to the 'due in' forum. I don't want to take all the credit, but I do think it might be my superspecial arctic dust and glue that did it lol. So here is a load more so you and Jo can be bump buddies too.

I know you are sad not to have embies, but you won't need them this time round. Now I want to hear you have your feet up and your fav movie on.

Hi Scarlett

it is all done now. It sounds as though you have a bladder the size of a peanut!!

You are now under strict instructions to not even think about the possibility of a BFN. This is a time of great hope for you and your DH. Enjoy it and you will feel so much more relaxed and positive. Put on a good movie and laugh your head off. Apparently the embies like it!

I know how scary the prospect is but at the moment it is not even an option. Don't look back only forwards now. It is always a struggle getting this far but it will be so worth it in the end.

You know you have ruined my holiday don't you as I will be desperate to get back to my laptop to see you announce your BFP. You can't even text me as my phone does not have international roaming. I am missing it by 2 days as we go next Wednesday bah humbug!

hi girls,

sorry i didn’t post yesterday...i wasn’t really feeling up to it. et went well. we had 4 embies that had fertilised and that had been doing well. out of those 4, there were 2 that were doing well at 5 cell stage, so we have had those two put back inside. unfortunately, the other two weren’t performing so great, so we don’t have any left to freeze this time either. so i must admit, i’m really gutted about that.

et was really traumatic again!!! i really thought i was going to wee over the consultant!!!! i find it so hard keeping a full bladder. i even went to the loo just before to let some water out and when i got in to the room for my et, i was in agony trying to hold my bladder. i even warned the cons and nurse that i was worried about weeing!!! lol *** src="http://my.bounty.com/smiley/msn/embaressed_smile.gif" alt="" /> i’m one of these people who has a glass of water and then has to go to the loo at least 5 times straight after, so the et is a real struggle for me. anyway, thankfully the consultant didn’t need a snorkel as suggested by jo and minnie!!! as soon as it was over, i ran out and headed straight for the loo (i didn’t even hang around to get the photo of the two embies that were put inside...i left hubby to that!!!)

anyway, i’m so glad thats over and done with now! i spent most of yesterday laying down on the couch. i’m going to take it easy today as well and then try and get back into the swing of things again as of tomorrow.

i am praying that this works now. this is our 4th attempt in a row without really taking a proper break. i just don’t know how i will cope with a bfn, so can’t think about that right now.

anyway, thank you all so much for the babyglue!

I have a good feeling about this time for u. Just like I had with Jo. Congratulations again Jo!!!! It wont b long now Scarlett. 2 weeks and hopefully we can get rid of u with Jo onto the due forums...im sick of u 2 hogging all the attention with ur sickness, injections, spotting , birthdays and weeing in mens faces....tee heee !!!!!! Obviously im only kidding...u have both been through a hell of alot and really deserve to be mummies now.

Right, i will chat later as im busy busy busy.

More for when you get back. I hope ET went well. At least having them put back a bit later in the day gives the Dr a bit more time to see which ones are the strongest ones to put back. I hope this morning has not been too slow and anxious for you.

Thanks for your really kind words. I really hope this can make you nice and positive after your ET that this malarkey does work for those of us who have had BFN's before. I and a lot of other people are wishing so hard that this is your time.

You and your DH deserve this so much and as I have said before I have good feelings for the 4 of us who always used to post on this thread. We are all due some luck and I hope I have started the ball rolling for us.

Jo and Minnie, you are both a right pair!!! You have had me in stitches with your last messages!!! I'm going to have visions of the cons wearing snorkel whilst carrying out the ET!!!!! LOL. I think that will definitely take my mind off my full bladder...if that doesn't then nothing else will.

My ET is booked in for 12.45 this afternoon, so i'm having to wait around this morning. I wish it had been first thing this morning so that it was over and done with. Oh well its not long to go now.

Minnie - Its so nice to hear from you again. I know you said you were going to take a break. It sounds like you have got everything prepared for all the babydancing thats going to be going on. I hope you make plenty of use of your nurses outfit!!!!

Jo, Jo, Jo - I am still in total and utter happinness for you. You have been there for everyone else on this board through their BFP's and BFN's and you have given out so much valuable advice.....and now it is finally your time. I must admit that after hearing about your BFP, I feel so much more positive about going in for my ET.

Anyway, I will post back later this afternoon.

for today. This is it now the countdown until your BFP. I have literally everything crossed that this is your time it is so much deserved.

I e-mailed you yesterday about maybe going in with your bladder half full so it is not so painful for you. It does not need to be fit for bursting for them to see everything they need to see. Otherwise tell your cons to wear his diving mask and snorkel!

Take care chick and look after yourself the next few days. Keep that smile on your face and keep positive.

Just want to wish u luck for tommorow.

And as far as the whole peeing in the consultants face thing goes, I think I wud be inclined to tell him. Well not exactly those words but at least inform him of ur bladder concerns after last time. It may make him be more gentle (if thats poss) and it may help u to relax abit more during the process. And hey, if it does happen so what. Just laugh and say wel it cud have been worse

I'm feeling a lot better today. I just can't wait to get tomorrow over and done with now. I'm dreading ET because I found it so hard last time. I was told to go in with a full bladder, but I was in absolute agony trying desperately hard not to pee on the consultants face whilst he was trying to put the embies back inside (sorry tmi...LOL!!!!!!). My legs were shaking so much with how much I was trying to keep myself from letting go. I just hope its a little easier this time round.

I still haven't decided how much time I am going to take off work post ET. I am definitely taking the first week off but haven't decided yet about the second week. I may just take the second week off too and be a lady of leisure.

I'm not on any drugs at the moment Jo. I haven't been given any antibiotics this time round so I'm happy about that. Aparently, I was given some antibiotics intravenously when I had my EC. I was also given a painkiller rectally straight after EC. I will be taking baby aspirin as of tomorrow. My cyclogest will not start until after ET, so that will start tomorrow. did you start yours straight after EC?

So anyway, it looks like the dreaded 2ww is almost upon me. I have made a decision to not test early at all. I am planning on leaving it till the actual test date. Well....thats the plan anyway...whether it actually happens that way is another story altogether!!!!

Hi Scarlett

I know we are all guilty of worrying about numbers it is so hard not to. 5 fertilised gives you a really good chance of having some good embies to put back and maybe even some frosties! Lets just concentrate on the ones being put back at the moment as frosties will only be used for siblings in the future!

How are you feeling after EC now? What tablets are you on now? I remember you mentioning Aspirin are you on anything else? I am still rattling around with my concoction of drugs! Are you getting on Ok with the cyclogest?

Let us know how it goes today and I am sending you lots of dividing vibes and of course lots of {bd]

Tomorrow you will be on the 2WW Yippee!

I have just done a mammoth round up of all the diaries as I have been a bit slack recently so am now off to have a cookathon in the kitchen. I have lost 3kg since starting my stims so need to put some back on although my holiday will soon sort that out.

I know its not quantity, but quality, but you still get so hung up on numbers!!!

Anyway, I have had the call. Out of the 10 eggs extracted, 9 were suitable for ICSI and were therefore, injected. Out of those 9 eggs, 5 have fertilised. I just hope that the quality of the embryos are top notch. We are now going in for ET on Monday so its going to be a 3 day transfer (last time it was a 2 day transfer). We have to call the hospital tomorrow morning to find out what time we need to go in on Monday. I just can't wait to get the little embies on board now.

Anyway, good luck to everyone. Jo, I've just said another little prayer for you. Not long to go now hon.

Sorry to hear it was more traumatic than the last time. As you know a similar thing happened to me. It sounds as though our veins are as bad as each others too. I tell you IVF is no blooming picnic is it!

10 eggs is a really good number. I think 9 is the average so bear in mind that some people get a ridiculous number so it also means that some get a lot lower to make that the average. Your fertilisation rate was good last time too so I have everything crossed that it was a very busy night in your petri dish!

Now take care of yourself and rest up. These days are really anxious times for you as it is out of your control but try and keep positive and I am sure you will get good news later today.

Take care love and will pop on soon to see how things are progressing. You are nearly on your 2WW. The short protocol really is the right way for you isn't it?

Aaaaawwwww, thank you girls for all of your lovely messages.

EC went ok yesterday. It was a little more traumatic than last time. Firstly EC ran a little later than planned as they couldn't find a vein anywhere to stick the canular (is that how you spell it???) After 4 attempts by 3 different people, they finally managed to find vein, but even then, they were saying that it was only by a thread that they had managed to get it. So basically, I don't think the drugs were going in properly, so I felt quite a bit of pain. I remember a lot more about this EC than the last one. Secondly, the consultant wouldn't allow DH to come into the room with me. Last time he was allowed in and just knowing he was there made me feel better. So I was gutted that he wasn't allowed in. Also, this time round I have not been given any anti-biotics to take post EC. Last time I was on 8 tablets a day for a week. This time none. In a way, I'm glad I'm not taking any anti-biotics as last time they made me feel really sick. This time, I really do feel fine.

Unfortunately, they only managed to get 10 eggs. I must admit I am disappointed about this as last time I produced 15 eggs. Does anyone know if 10 eggs is a good number? I'm really worried about this. I am no sat by my phone waiting for the dreaded call to find out how many have fertilised. I am praying that they have all fertilised. We have been told that we will be going in for ET either tomorrow or Monday. I really do hope, we can go on Monday for a 3 day transfer.

Anyway, I'm feeling really nervous and anxious at the moment. I just hope and pray the eggs and sperm had a good night last night and that they did their thing!!!!!

I will psot back as soon as I get the call from the hospital later on today.

Also, just wanted to let my friend Jo know that I'm thinking of you honey and I still believe in my heart that this is your time and that you are going to get that BFP.

Anyway, lots of luck for tomorrow, not that you'll need it because you'll have loads of juicey eggs just dying to get jiggy with dh's swimmers.
