Hi Ruby - if you drive up Whitham Road which is the one where the Childrens hospital is towards Broomhill. You then go past Richer Sounds on you right and take the very next right after that. The car park is just there on the right. Its 20p for 1 hour and 40p for 2 hours (not sure if you can have any more than that though). Its called Parkers Lane car park (?). Its then just a 5 min walk back down Whitham Road to the clinic. Its great for early morning appointments rather than paying for the main car park prices. I caught the bus once as well to try and be environmentally friendly. Never doing it again!! The bus from where I live goes all round the houses to get to town plus its in rush hour traffic. It took about an hour and a half to get there.

Thanks thunderbird, I've had all the lap etc done at Thornbury as was private but any more fertility stuff will be at Jessops.  I go to the Hallamshire quite alot anyway so I am with you on the parking being a nightmare. The cheaper and most available carpark I've found is one on Broomhill next  to the Notting House pub but it only allow 2 hr stays which is never really enough what with all the waiting around you have to do.

Where is the 20p  car park you have found? it'd be really good to know.

So your treatment is at Jessops?! Hope everythingis going well for you.

I will def keep updated here as it's good to have something to look back on to work out what treatment you've had and when. x

OMG you are going through the mill aren't you. Very strange that your tubes are open one minute and blocked the next - surely one of the tests must be wrong.

Are you having your treatment at the Hallamshire/Jessops? Not the easiest of places to get to and park is it. I am in the middle of my treatment at the moment and have found an excellent car park just up the road 5 minutes walk away for 20p/hour. Better than the £2.50 for two hours in the actual hospital car park

So what now for you? Keep us posted xxx

Gosh so much has happened since I last updated this diary, so I'm gonna keep it fairly short and sweet....

I managed to use a work medical plan to go private to see someone about my spotting. I went about 4weeks ago, he did swabs, smear and colposcopy - he found a polyp on my cervix however he doesn't think this is causing the premenstrual spotting as it would bleed whenever not at a set time every month, however it is possible. I then had a ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound which showed my ovaries are absolutely fine and with a dominant follicle - so I defo ovulate.

Went back last week for results and smear, swabs were both fine but as I have pelvic pain he reccomended me having a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, d&c. So monday evening I had this done, he removed the polyp, found a slight bit of endo on my left pelvis (but not enough to cause the spotting), did hysteroscopy, then d&c and found my uterine lining to be thicker than it should be at that time in my cycle (day 14) so has sent for testing to try and determine why.  Then went to flush my tubes with dye and they were both BLOCKED (wtf). He didn't say much but I go back next wed for results of lining testing and to discuss things further.

But wtf, last month I had HSG and both tubes were open now they're blocked. I know I haven't had an infection in between as had swabs just before HSG and had swabs a week after HSG so I dont see how they could have been damaged in 4-5weeks.  So the most logical theory I can see is that one of the tests was wrong, either  hsg was blocked (but I did see the dye coming out of my tubes!!) or lap & dye wasn't blocked.  I have read that if the dye isn't pushed up in the exactly correct position then it might not go up and will appear blocked. So I'm really hoping i'm right and my tubes are infact open.

My theory is that I have too  much estrogen or not enough progesterone as lining can be thicker than it should if too much estrogen and premenstrual spotting can be caused by lack of progesterone, so I think its a hormone thing.

Thats all for now, me thinks.....

Well been for my HSG today and all good.  Radiologist said womb looks absolutely fine and both tubes are open. Wish I'd had asked stuff like "was there any kind of blockage that the dye flushed out?" or "would you be able to see scar tissue etc" as would really like to know both but was so plsd she said everything was fine that I just got dressed and left.  Had 2 paracetamols an hour before and it hardly hurt at all, had the tiniest amount of period pain but as soon as it was over that went.  About an hour ago I started with pains in my tummy that are dull to medium pains took some more paracetamol been not shifting it so I'll see how it goes. Hopefully it'll clear soon.

    Hello there

I am no expert but your results all look good. Your FSH is one way of measuring your ovarian reserve and your result looks really good. I think anything under 10 is good.

I am not sure what LH and oestrodial should be so can't be of much help there.

Your progesterone test on day 22 shows that you have ovulated. Generally I was told if it was over 30 you have ovulated so again all looks good.

Hopefully this will put your mind at rest until you get to see your consultant.

    Jo x

I've been to hospital today for something unrelated to ttc and asked if they'd give me my blood test results cos cant bear waiting til december to get them.  So they gave them me, but I'm not too sure what they mean as everything I've find online aren't measured in the same units.

    CD2

    FSH - 6.1 IU/L

    LH - 4.2 IU/L

    Estradiol - 90 pmol/L

    CD22

Progesterone - 70 (not sure what units its measured in)

Might make a GP appointment and see if they can help me with these results.

Not sure if anyone reads this thread, but if you do and can shed any light on these results please do x

Been for my progesterone blood test today on day22. Had a temp dip this morning and have also started spotting so at least I can draw one positive from spotting (and knowing that i'm unlikely to be pregnant this month) is that if the spotting is causes by progesterone levels it should be picked up.

Also enquired whilst at hospital if they had any cancellations for results appt and as of yet "No". But got me thinking, she asked me what consultant I was under, well I haven't seen a consultant yet and if they are only checking his diary for cancellations I'll be miffed as I'm more than happy to see anyone as long as it's before my appt in december. Arrggh! So when DP been for sperm test I'll start ringing and check that they are checking every consultants schedule and not just his.

Well I went for my swabs on friday 20th, then spotted for a few days so hoping that due to swabs and not my period messing up and spotting at end as well.  Phoned up for results on friday 27th and all normal. Feeling like I dont trust the gp receptionist for some reason and really wanting to make an appt with gp so they can talk me thru the results before my HSG on 18th as dont want to have an infection and get it pushed further up.  dont know why I'm wittling so much about the recewptionist being wrong!!

Taken epo from about cd2 til ovulation, and took guafenesin for 5 days before ovulation and drank loads of water and it didn't help cm at all which has really peed me off, cant understand why nothing seems to be helping cm and before I started ttc I used to ave loads.

On cd19 today so going to go get progesterone blood test at hosp on thursday (cd22). Really wanting to know what me day 2 blood test results are, so I'm thinking I have a unrelated hospital appt in a weeks time so I'm thinking of asking if they can give me the results, not sure if they will but hope they do.

Well i've been for my CD2 bloodtest today, only had to wait 15mins so not too bad.  Been to GP's and booked to have swabs done with the nurse next Friday at 2.30 so hopefully those will be back quickly and been clear.

I have decided to carry on charting this month so that I can be as accurate as I can be on determining when to go get my CD21 bloodtest (as in if I ov of cd15/16 I'll go in on CD22/23). Then I planned to stop temping and just use OPK's, as I feel that I am too obsessed with TTC and maybe if I try and cool the thinking/obsessing it might help towards a BFP....well it's gotta be worth a try!!

Thanks Kizzi, I didn't realise it was common to alot of waiting inbetween appt. I thought that once you'd spent ages waiting for initial appt the testing would be quite quick. And then if treatment was needed I assumed we'd have to wait around awhile again then.  Seems strange how different trusts have such different waiting time, I've read quite a few on here seem to have test and got back afew week later for results, but seems every area is different. Hope the clomid brings you a speedy BFP!!

That sounds like a pretty good app 2 me! It took us about 18mth of going back and 2, 2 get 2 that stange!!! The wait between apps is about average at 6mths apart. We have been started on clomid 3 mths ago, it took us 2 yrs of going back and 2 2 the hospital to get that far, so I think its a really possitive app you had. Keep your chin up and good luck!!!

Thought I would start my own diary to help keep a track and keep myself motivated when things seem to be hopeless and also for others to check out incase they are in a similar situation and want to know about my experiences, here's my story so far.......

I came off the pill in Oct 2006 and started charting, opks etc in Dec 2007 and as of yet no BFP. Also in Dec 2007 I started spotting a week before my AF (this has never happened to me before now), this has continued and spotting arrives anywhere between 7-9 before my AF. I made my GP do my day21 progesterone level bloods a couple of months ago and results were 52 (anything over 30 mean you ovulate apparently). For the last 3months I have been taking Agnus Castus to see if that helps with the spotting and as of yet it hasn't. No drs seem concerned about this spotting even though I am and just want it to stop. Also started taking EPO last month to try and increase cervical mucus and that didn't seem to work.

Me and boyf went to our first Infertility appt yesterday, and we are still undecided if it was a good experience or not.  The dr we saw was rubbish, didn't seem to know what she was talking about (she didn't even think it was a infertility appt, just a gyno appt til I put her straight). Anyway the course of action that has been decided is this: Me go for CD2 and CD21 blood test this month, go to GP's to have swabs to check for infection, when those come back clear ring and go have a HSG done, Boyf booked in for Semen Sample Analysis on 4/8/08 (cant believe how long wait) then we go back for a ultrasound and appt with dr to get results all on same day.  Here is where I get v.annoyed, the earliest appt they have got to get all results from dr is.....22/12/08 (over 6mnths time, cant believe it!!!) So we will have had all test done by early August and will have to wait a further 4 months to get results, it just seems so wrong.  I have been told I can ring up to see if they have any cancellations.  Which I will be doing, every week, from when we have had all the tests done.  And hopefully we will get in before December.

AF arrived today, so I will be going in tomorrow for my CD2 bloodtests, so the ball will be officially rolling (just very slowly by the looks of it!).

If anyone wants to watch my journey please feel free to do so, and ask me any questions if you want.

I am hoping this will be a very short journey, fingers crossed!!
