Hi Girls
Well I am still experiencing cramping. Its worse when I wake up in the morning. I am not sure if cramping is the right term but I am kinda sensitive round my tummy area. Maybe I am just reading into things I am not sure but we shall see. I am trying not to be too worried.
Still very tired too but I think that may just be the heat taking it out of me.
Anyway I hope everyone else is ok. Gem x x

Hi Ladies,
Another beautiful day today and I have had the day off to go shopping with a friend. It was lovely walking round Cambridge in the sun but I am shattered now!

I have been trying to drink 2 litres of water a day and have been having 5 brazil nuts and a glass of pineapple juice (not from concentrate) as advised by other girls on here. Apart from feeling tired I am fine. I have had some cramping but trying not to think about that as I don't know if thats good or bad news!

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Gem x x

Hi Gem
Glad you are feeling better. Hats off to you if you don't test I don't think I would have that willpower! At least you know the result you get will be true.
I forgot what everyone had posted on my diary as being a bit dopey so thought I would reply here. Your dog sounds like a real trouble maker. Imagine eating a foil tray! My dog is a proper scrounger but generally sticks to food lol!. She is a 'wild wadi' dog from Oman so is a bit of everything. (she is the picture on my profile) We rescued her and bought her to Bahrain via Dubai. She has a wonderful temperament for saying how badly she has been treated. She has a lot of scar tissue on her ribs where she was beaten by some labourers but is otherwise in really good shape. She is certainly loving being in a proper home. It is probably the same for you as I find she has really helped me through the ups and downs of treatment. Their unmoving loyalty is amazing.
Anyway off on a total tangent there. Sending you some super sticky
and I hope you are hanging in there.Love Jo x

Hi MrsC
I am due to test on Friday 8th August. That is when I am booked in for a blood test at the clinic. I know some girls test earlier but I am hoping to hold out. I wouldn't know when it was a good time to test or if I would get a false positive so I am going to let the professionals do it. Although my husband has already asked when we should test!!
The NHS have booked us in for 5th August to start IVF treatment and I was worried that we would be wasting their time and someone elses place if we went and I was already pregnant so didn't know whether to test before then?!?!? I really don't know what to do about that but as I said before we are hoping to hold out.

Hi Ladies,
Feeling much better today...not sure what came over me yesterday but I didn't eat until a good hour or so after my pessary so maybe I needed to take it on a full stomach or something. I am right as rain today though so all good.
Feeling twinges today on my right side. I am hoping thats a good thing! I have walked my dog today and am back at work so no more lazing around unfortuantely! Still if I keep myself busy hopefully the 2ww will fly by!

Hi Gem
I hope you are feeling better today and you enjoyed your nans 90th birthday (Wow!)
It maybe side effects to the progesterone. I remember you saying you had taken it before with your IUI did you suffer at all then? It does very strange things to me I must admit!
Anyway here is some
and I hope you are feeling better.Jo x

Hi Girls,
I am feeling weird this morning. A little sick and hot, not sure if I have eaten something last night or what but not top of my game at all. It's my nan's 90th birthday today and all the family are going for lunch at a restaurant. I hope I feel better by then! +{

Hiya, Just wanted to drop in and send you huge buckets of babydust and lots of patience! Keeping everything crossed for you, I really hope it works for you, I'll be watching this space xx

Thanks for all the sticky baby glue girls I really appreciate it!
I am feeling very relaxed and calm at the moment. You are probably all going to laugh at me but I bought this Paul McKenna cd which kinda sends you to sleep and while you are sleeping it increases positive thought....kinda hypnosis?!?! I am not sure how it works but I only get a couple of minutes into the cd and I'm asleep!! ha ha! It is helping though so I would recommend it!
My embryologist recommended at least 20 mintues of doing something a day to get the red blood cells pumping so dh and I have just gone for a gentle stroll with the dog. It was really chilled despite my nutty dog running round in cirlces!
Cutiegilson - Yes I do remember you posting in the IUI buddies thread. Thank you for thinking of me.
Bythebeachjo, MrsC and Minimemmma - Thanks for your posts and good luck wishes.

Hi Gem,
I was away last week, but have come back to find you have been very busy, which is fantastic. So glad that the hard part is now done for you, although you are now on to the dreaded 2ww.
I really hope the next 2 weeks fly by, sending you the stickiest, extra sticky baby glue !!!

Love Emma xxx

Hi Gem

Yippee you are now on the 2WW. It sounds as though you have some great quality embryos on board too so everything is in your favour. I hope you are feeling OK and I am sorry to hear you found it so uncomfortable. I think I must be lucky as although it is not pleasant I don't find it too bad. The first time I did not even feel them put the catheter in and then the second time only a few seconds of a weird pain. Hopefully everything has settled down for you now.
I like it that the consultant said no hoovering! My cons said everything was fine apart from BD but the role of women is very different here. Needless to say my DH would not have me doing anything like that so he was a pro by the end of my 2WW.
I can not believe the NHS. That must be so infuriating. Proper sods law.
Anyway take care of yourself and each day that passes is one day closer to your official BFP (positive thinking vibes!)

I forgot to say....the NHS have just called this morning to say we are now at the top of the waiting list and can we attend the hospital on 5th August to begin our NHS IVF treatment!! I couldn't believe it! They told us the wait would be at least 9 - 12 months and they've called within a month because they've opened a new clinic...now is that bloomin typical or what!!

Hi Ladies,
Thank you to everyone who has posted in my diary. It's so nice to log on and have lots of messages waiting for me.
Well et went well. The embryologist was such a lovely man. He kept talking to me the whole way through about all different things to try and keep my mind off of the procedure...which despite his best efforts did not help as it bloomin hurt big time! Sorry for you ladies who haven't yet had the pleasure of a cathater up your min but I cannot lie!!
We were told they like a quality of between 6 and 9 cell divisions to put back and my little embies were 7 and 8. The embryologist stood talking to us for a while and explained the uterus is very sticky so the embryo's SHOULD stick without a problem. However. we need to keep laughing and having fun as its more a mental thing rather than a physical thing!?!?
My dh asked should I have my feet up all day and in bed and we were told to carry on with our daily chores although this weekend I am not to hoover, lift or do the gardening! Now I like the sound of being waited on for a few days I can tell you!
It's official I am now on the dreaded 2WW!
24/7/08 20:23
Hi, i'm a lurker who reads all your threads, i'm waiting to start IUI myself with donor so i like to read all your stories !!! Loads & loads of luck for tomorrow, thinking of you xxx
24/7/08 19:30
Hi Gem,
Tonnes of luck for your et tomorrow - will keep everything crossed for you!
The way the consultant explained it to me was that they use your bladder as a "window" to check the embies are going in the right place - but they said it shouldn't be completely full (prob given they know it's not comfortable when they're going internally too).
that they'll be great quality grades and
in advance of tomorrow.Take care,
Jxx

Hi Gem
Nearly one week down now. Hopefully those cramps are your embies snuggling down nice and cosy inside.
I hope you enjoy your weekend and the sun keeps on shining for you
Jo
