Funny you say that. I read that in a newspaper on the way to work yesterday. I thought it was a wonderful idea but I dont know if I could bring myself to call right now.

Has anyone looked into doing this - subsidised ivf cycle if you donate some eggs to others that have had chemo, early menopause etc. I know it might not even happen for me but i have pcos and 1 child but may need assistance next time and was thinking this is what i would like to do - is there any catches or unknown problems with it - i know the baby the recipient has will be genetically be yours and can contact you at 18 but i think i would really like to do this and not just for the cheap ivf

Hi,
I think it's a great idea and did look into it before I started IVF. We didn't go for it in the end as the extra tests etc we'd have needed would have delayed our cycle by a few months (as we'd have clashed with their summer shut down if we didn't start straight away) but I'd seriously consider it if I have to do another cycle.
If I'm honest, I think the biggest concern on my part was that I'd find it really hard if my donor eggs led to a baby for someone else if the ones I used didn't.
