I hope it went ok for you.
I was only told not to try before, so that there was no risk of pregnancy at the time. We did try afterwards, although left it a few days. I'm on cd 24 today so will know in a few days if successful or not!

I am due to have mine tomorrow. Did they tell you not to bd for the next cycle. I have POCS and very long cycles so never want to waste one.
Does anyone have any views. It was stated in the leaflet not to try as a small chance it could have damaged any follicles. As my cycles are long I don't think there would be any follicles at the moment as I will be on CD8 tomorrow and my last cycle was over 7 weeks (one before it 13 weeks).

Thank you x
Really - for those waiting to have one, it was nothing to worry about - a bit undignified and slightly uncomfortable, but over in minutes. Just remember to take some tablets before you go and a sanitary towel for afterwards!

thats great news see xx very very few people have bloked tubes xx

........and it was fine - all normal.
I don't know why I was so worried about it - I hardly felt a thing. Just a slight twinge as the catheter was put through the cervix. I had taken paracetamol, codiene and ibuprofen about an hour before.
Sooo pleased it's over. They showed me the images afterwards of the dye going through and spilling out of the ends of my tubes. Very reassuring to know that's all ok.

All went well with the HSG. No sign of any blockages or anything, although I needed it explained to me as I could not see what I was meant to see on the screen.
It was a little uncomfortable at the time, just like harsh period pain but very little bleeding afterwards, had a bit of pain in the afternoon but a couple of painkillers sorted that.
We have the follow up appointment with the consultant at the end of August, so hopefully we will be successful this month (although, with long cycles and PCOS its hard to know how long this onth will be).
Am still going to acupuncture, have now had 4 sessions so fingers crossed.
Good luck to everyone for this month.
