Sorry to hear what a rough time your sis has been going through. she certainy did not get told in the right way although unfortunately not all GP's are aware of the NICE rules on IVF etc.

I'm afraid it is true that your sis wont get NHS funding - I was turned down beacuse my hubby has children from his previous marriage (although i had none of my own) who live with us!

However tell her never to give up hope completely - i was diagnosed with unexplained fertility myself and was ttc for 2 1/2 years, before falling pregnant naturally, just as we had started the adoption process. Stressing about ttc actually makes it harder, as the body subconsciously (because of all the hormones and chemicals caused by stress)thinks it is not a good time to be pregnant!! - so my midwife told me anyway.

Good luck to her and her hubby

just wanted some advice, my sister and hubby have been ttc their second child, following a miscarriage 3 years ago,  after 2 and a half years and 6 cycles of  Comid nothings happened. Their doctor referred them for IVF appoint and have just had a letter saying no IVF appointment will be given as they already have a child together (she’s 5), and that if my sis had a new partner they would have got an appointment , is this normal? does no-one get even an IVF appointment if they’ve got a child? with unknown infertility shouldn’t their referring doc have known this policy??? and told them?? as hearing by letter has been really upsetting,
