you must be ov'in if they didn't prescribe you clomid.

so you'll be having Inter Uterine Insemination then? there's a guy at work who's wife is having it to as he has low motility or something so this helps them.

hope it works for you honey i really do i know its a long hard road but we all know its gonna be worth it xxxx

    Hi Nonie

I know I am baffled myself I went in there thinking that's what I would be talking about then he mentioned IUI I dont know whether you take clomid along with it before you have IUI i dunno!!  It was the consultant who did the op said about clomid and it was the normal doctor back in the hospital i saw today???????? So confused ! ! He told me to contact the fertility clinic to get some info on it so i did and the nurse there said is it controlled IUI or not. of course I didnt know so she emailed two brochures saying difference things.  AAARRRGGGHHH.  Guess I just go with the flow?!? How are you doing??? Kxx

So are you not gonna be given clomid? are you ovulating? have you had blood tests to say you are/arent ov?  IUI seems a bit drastic, im not 100% sure what it entails myself though. sorry being nosy just seems strange they said clomid now they change their minds x

Hi everyone, oh well yet another month passes by as AF got me today and also had my first appointment back to the hospital and got the ok from my lap and dye in detail from the Doc (only took two months and that was chasing them to get an appointment).  I have now been told that I am having IUI and I have no idea really want that is about obviously need to do some research, anyone else had this, it all seems really confusing after being branded "unexplainable infertility"  How much longer can this really go on for?  We started trying before any of my friends and guess what every single one of them have had their babes or are pregnant.  Sorry bad day!!  Kxx

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I'm new to this. I had a lap and dye in November last year and was given clomid to start straight away and fell pregnant on my second cycle of clomid. My consultant monitored me closely on clomid as it can make you hyperstimulate which can cause cysts but definatly worth asking consultant about, worked for my mum aswell in making me. I'm not sure if it was the the lap and dye or the clomid but after three years of trying it wasn't just a coincidence. Good luck x

hi kazsnips. i dont remember seeing your post on here yesterday but would have written back sooner.

i had lap and dye in feb. i hadnt ov since coming off pill 2.5 yrs ago and didnt have periods at all for 15 months at least until taking something to induce them.  some people seem to have a "clear out" and one lady on here was preg within 5 weeks of having hers!! i didnt have af for 3 months after having mine.  goodness knows what they did to me when i was under but i was off sick for 3 weeks i was in agony and totally shocked by what theyd done! so certainly didnt feel like bding for good few weeks but its totally up to you and when your ready.  i had same results all clear thank goodness and now im on clomid again. it helps you ovulate - so releases follicles which turn into eggs etc etc....you take it on days 2 to 6 of your cycle, so the day after you start bleeding for 5 days. easy. can leave you with all sorts of lovely side effects which youll read on here and seem to be diff for everyone.   clomid can over stimulate your ovaries tho so you may be referred to hosp for tracking scans(internal ultra sounds) to ensure your not releasing too many eggs and then end up with twins, triplets, quads etc.. i say bring it all on id be happy with that!!   good luck with your journey x x

    Hello Kazsnips,

First off hello and LOL to your 2nd post!!!

Hope you are feeling ok after your op and good to know that you have no blockages.  I have been ttc#1 for over 3 years and had a lap & dye op this time last year.  I have heard many stories re the op giving you a 'spring clean' as such and this resulting in a little bump. (Sadly not in my case).  Even one of my friends who was told she would never get pg after having the L&D has now got a little boy.  I think from reading the threads on here that whatever our circumstances we should never give up hope of achieving motherhood.

I am not sure if there is a certain time period you should leave after the op to start bd again - I think it just depends on you personally and how you are feeling.

Re clomid, not 100% sure as I have not had that....however my understanding is that it induces ovulation and helps you to produce more follicles.  But hopefully somebody else will be able to confirm this and give you some more info.

I wish you luck on your road to your bfp!

      xxxxxx

    Hi

    Hope everyone is ok

Have got home today from having a lap & dye test which turned out to be fine no blockages or anything and I heard the specialist mention Clomid as the next step.  I have read a few threads on here about it but not really sure what it does etc.

We have been trying for 2 years for #1 next month.  Any advice or help about would be greatly received.

Also - can a lap & dye test sort of give you 'a bit of clean out' (sorry) and how long after can you start to bd????

    Thanks x
