    Good luckDM1981

Hi i was diagnosed with PCOS at 12 years old, im now 27. I was on the same medication that you were and they did nothing for me either. I have found the only way to control you PCOS is to lose weight and keep it off, easier said than done.... I reached my max when i was 23 and a size 18. i immediatley had enough i now eat 6 small meals per day and never go over 1000 calories. Doctors dont agree with this but its all i found helped. I hope you find you fix. Im 27 and they still cant find anything to get my periods started but at least the rest has stopped or calmed down. I had hair growth and many unpleasant side effects and now all i have is the odd stomach cramp which i always had to deal with around my monthly cycle even though i didnt have the period i still had the pain. Plus i have 1 beautiful son and another on the was. Controlling the weight is definately key for me but with a cycle they cant find anything...

Have they checked to see is your tubes are blocked? did you get a dye test? these are certainly things they should be looking into.

Good luck sorry i couldnt be more help xxx

    I have a questionm2j

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I just guess some of you would have a good understanding of PCOS, and I couldnt see a more suitable forum which to post this in!

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 18 months ago, after not having had a period for 3 years (at that time) No treatment seemed to kick start my periods, and last November I was put on Diante and metformin - still no period. Then in February of this year I had to come off all medication for some hormone tests. I fell pregnant straight away, but MCd at 7 weeks. After the MC I seemed to have 2 28day cycles, although the bleeding was very slight. I was then put back on Diante, and my next cycle didnt arrive, nor did the July one, then at the start of August (whilst on the Diante) I had severe pain and passed huge clots. I lost what seemed a lot of blood in a very short space of time, but then after about 4 hours nothing.

I have just ventured into a new job so not looking to ttc just yet, but I am now doubting whether Diante is the right medication for me. I have tried other contraceptives, Microgyen30, Cilest... I dont actually remember all the names, there must be about 6 others I have tried and I have never had a period whilst taking them or in the 7day break. I did go about 4-6 months without any pills about 2.5 yrs ago and still no periods. I suffered quite a lot with abdomen pain, some days this was completely unbearable. The only medication I have found it to ease with is Diante, it isn't as regular, and when it occurs its not as painful (except for once in January where it was worse than ever, and again start of this month, but odd occassions I can cope with).

I am seeing my endocrinologist at the end of August for my hormone results, and I am seeing my gynaecologist on 1st September. I was just wondering if any of you with PCOS could suggest things I might put to my consultant. I just want my body to return to normal, and shift the excess weight that having PCOS has caused. My main priority was no pain, then regular cycles. Any of you that have suffered with PCOS have you found a medication that worked and helped both symptoms? Im worried I'll fall pregnant again if I just come off my medication (not that I do much to regulary to get pregnant - its too painful lol).
