i used a warm hot***er bottle because of the pain after et, also i avoided baths for the 2ww, just had daily washes, id read somewhere that they are to be avoided for a while, i have since got hubby to fit a shower as i cant get in and out the bath anymore with my big bump.

Hi Lorri,
My understanding is that you can use a hot water bottle up to et but after that just keep your lower tummy and lower back area covered up and warm but not with a hot water bottle. I have been loafing under a quilt and resting lots. I was told after my et to avoid sitting in a hot bath (i.e. have showers), saunas and generally getting too hot - read somewhere on here that heat can cause contractions to ocurr which is something we dont want.
Hope that helps

Sorry to gatecrash but another thing i have been told is to keep warm with a hot water bottle placed on your tummy. I'm currently having acupuncture in the run up to ICSI and will have a session the day of my transfer, my accupuncturist has the most amazing heat lamp that he hovers over my tummy in every session and it is the most comforting thing in the world! I will be taking a hot water bottle with me the day of my transfer!
Good Luck to all!

Hi Thunderbird.
I am on my 2WW too at the moment and since a couple of days after ET I have been walking my dog twice a day. As long as you take it easy and if you feel unwell stop then I am sure it will be fine. I think gentle exercise is supposed to improve your blood flow to the uterus too which can only be a good thing.
Enjoy your walk and

Hi there, just read your post and it reminded me of my 2ww. I used to go for a gentle walk every now and again as it took my mind off things and also gets your circulation going which is good for implantation (my ivf nurse told me this). Take it easy and try not to worry too much. It worked for me as my little one is now 17months old. Take each day as it comes and don't look too far ahead and you will stay sane I promise you. Good luck and try and relax, big hugs xxxxxxx

Hi ladies thanks so much for replying. My official test date is Mon 25th so another week to go. Hmm pineapple juice - lovely, water nice, milk nice. Brazil nuts bleeeurgh sorry might give that bit a miss. Thanks for the tips. I had heard of pineapple juice as a relief from morning sickness but I think a bloke must have wrote that ha ha lol.
Good luck to everyone else whatever your stories are. I'm new to Bounty so don't know any of you yet.
What is the deal with exercise does anyone know? I know you shouldn't get stressed or do anything strenuous, or start anything you are not used to but I walk to work a couple of times a week. Its a 5 mile round trip and I love it. Feel fab afterwards but haven't dare do it since transfer last week - not sure why just feel like I should be taking it easier for some reason so have been using the car instead. xxxxxx

Hi Thunderbird,
Just wanted to drop by to wish you all the luck in the world. when is your official test date? I am going in for my ET tomorrow so will be joining you on the dreaded 2WW

Well I have started doing all of the things that Jo has mentioned in her post, i.e. pineapple juice, pint milk, 2 litres water and brazil nuts. I didn't do any of these things on my last attempt, so thought I would give it a go. It just makes me feel like I am doing something useful that may help.
Anyway, good luck hon

p.s. did you watch x-factor last night? It was hilarious. The two guys that sang Mysterious Girl by Peter Andre had me in stitches!!!! LOL

Crikey the 64million$ question. I don't think anyone knows to be honest but I would say don't do anything that you will question later.
Selenium is supposed to aid implantation which is in Brazil nuts and pineapple juice (not from concentrate). It is also advised to drink a pint of milk a day after transfer and the mandatory 2 litres of water.
Taking it easy, staying relaxed and doing things that put a smile on your face can only be a good thing Avoid the obvious like strenuous activity and heavy lifting.
To be honest X Factor sounds like a good plan!

Just in the middle of my 2ww and can't stop thinking about it. I feel so helpless knowing that its all down to nature now. I don't smoke and haven't touched a drop of booze for a few weeks other than that I don't know what else to do with myself other than watch the X Factor lol xx

Thanks for your replies xx
