    Smiling at youdreaming

Thanks for all your advice, it really helps during this 2WW as my mind just keeps thinking what can I do to increase my chances of success.

Fingers, toes crossed and wishes for lots of baby glue.

    Hi

I have had 3 attempts at IUI in the last 5 years, two of which have resulted in babies (one on the outside and one on the inside!!)

I have always used the pessaries vaginally as the clinic said it didn't matter and I just thought anally wasn't for me really. I wasn't given any advice - only that discharge would increase and that I'd have to wear a pad if I didn't already. Not even lying down afterwards was mentioned. Having said that I was prescribed 3 per day during the 2ww dropping down to 2 after my bfp until my first scan. I'm now down to 1 a day for the next week then going to stop them completely. Last time I wasn't prescribed this many at all, feels like I've been on them forever!!

Wishing you all the very best for your 2ww and hope that you get a big fat juicy result at the end of it xxxx

    Hi

Firstly, I'd like to send you lots of very sticky baby glue and good luck wishes for your treatment.  I really hope that you will be celebrating your BFP very soon x

With regards to the pessaries, I had two attempts at IVF, my first resulted in a BFN, but I was very lucky as my second attempt worked and I now have an 8 month old little boy.  With both attempts I was told to insert the pessaries rectally.  I was advised to lay down for 20-30 mins afterwards to stop them from leaking.

I'm sorry I cant say whether one way or another is more successful.

    Good luck xx

    Hi dreaming,

Although I lost my baby I did have a successful IVF pregnancy and used the pessaries vaginally. Other than staying in bed for 30minutes after inserting one there was nothing else to it? I continued to use 2 a day till 12weeks I think and then reduced to 1 for about 2 weeks.

Can't remember any other advice except to remain lying down for the 30mins.

    Good luck and lots of

    X

    I have a questiondreaming

    Hi ladies,

Just wondered whether anybody has any views of whether using the pessaries vaginally or rectumally actually gives better success chances.

I started using my pessaries vaginally on Wednesday, was advised that either end doesn't matter but some women find the backdoor way to be less messy.

The only advice they really gave was to lie down and relax for about 20 -30 mins after inserting.

For those who's IVF treatment was sucessful I would really appreciate any positive tips of what to do.

    Thanks
