Steenie,
I am sorry but I have to agree with everything Tina has said she has become a friend and a great source of support not just in relation to IVF/ttc but also with other issues I am dealing with.
Personally I was offended when it took you a few months to even acknowledge that you knew something was wrong with my dad, but I just let it go.
However, rarely do you offer any support/advice on any matters arising in this thread which gives the impression you do not actually read our posts, hence my lack of acknowledgement to your last post.
15/6/08 18:18
Steenie what's with the angry face??!!! There have been plenty of times when you have come on here and let vent with your frustrations over work or family issues and not asked about any of us and none of us have battered any eyelid. I will not be told by anyone when or if I should say hello to people. Sarah has been very supportive over my nan's poor health and has always been there to lend an ear or her advise with problems I have had with Jessica hence I feel that she has become a friend, especially when she has her own problems and is dealing so bravely and selflessly with her dad's illness.
I'm sorry if you feel you have been excluded but that's your problem and you need to address that and posting angry faces will only alienate yourself!

hello ladies is no one talking to me or something?
I asked how you all were and not one of u even said hello !
13/6/08 18:56
Hi Sarah,
Fantastic that your app went so well and means your treatment will be starting in a couple of months, September will be here before we know it!!!!! I'm really really happy for you both. Know what you mean about dieting I really knew to get my butt into gear I've started cutting down but get really hungry around 4:30 and we don't sit down to eat until 6ish so I do tend to pick, trying to find healthy picky snacks!!!!
Will keep everything crossed for your Dad's next appointment that its all good news!!!
Thanks for asking about my nan again, she isn't too good at all at the mo, my grandad said last night that she is quite tearful and everything is really getting to her, bless her I'm sure I wouldn't have coped with half of what she is going through and she does it all with sure dignity!!! My other nan isn't well either think old age is catching up with her too she is 87 in November and told my neice not to ever get old its not nice!!
Went to Drayton Manor on Wednesday with Jess and her preschool, she was an absolute star and spoke to everyone (bar her teachers!!!!) all day, so I was really really proud of her and today as we were leaving she said to one of her favourite teachers, Happy !!Birthday have a nice weekend, we nearly all fell over but at least its a small step forward
Not many plans for this weekend yet, with pop to my Grandad's with his Fathers Day card, always get him a little something as he would go without otherwise!!!! Saturday I will probably pop round my mums but apart from that not a lot.
Right Jess wants me to go and play with her, take care and have a fantastic weekend

Me again,
Ta for your comments re my dad. He goes back to the hospital to see his consultant on Friday and then should hopefully find out if there is a chance the cancer has escaped the liver - fingers crossed not! I think he will be having another scan soon too just to make sure. He seems to be doing well though and is staying positive - which as we know ourselves can be harder some days than others.
Gosh your nan is a strong lady isnt she! Soz to hear that she has had to have her morphine increased but it if helps her then it can only be good. Soz to hear your gdad has to have an op too, does he have to wait long?
Ah my letter - it did not turn up so I called the hospital to see what was going on....it had been sent to the wrong address so luck I called. Had to go to the hospital to collect them on Mon eve!
Glad that your boss is aware you are not like Laura workwise. Has he chatted about things with you yet or is he not back from his hols?
Is Jess still getting on well with her visits to big school? Any more improvement with her talking at school?
Have you got much planned for the weekend? We are looking after Eva for a couple of hours tomorrow - really looking foward to that, then got Matt's cousin and her family coming to stay o/night as Matt's nan is 80 on Mon so party Sat night for her. Had a lovely time with Alicia last weekend and gots lots of cuddles too!
Anyway, take care hun

Hi Tina,
How's things with you? Well, had our appointment yesterday and it went pretty well. Basically we have been given more information to take away and read, plus various tests that need to be done. Both went for blood test for HIV and Hepatitus after appt so that is 1 down! Then once all of the results are back we go for another appt and I think then we got to Southampton for a 'Welcome Day' and then start invjections after that.....I think that is the gist of it. Were bombarded a bit with info. Not sure if we are supposed to book our next appt or they will let us know when all test results are back?! - I will play it safe and phone them once had my last blood test done. They did give us a number and their names to contact if any queries....they may live to regret it!! They also asked if we had thought about no of embies we wanted put back. I said due to my age (37 and a bit) I was thinking 2, she agreed with that - oh how 'old' I must be!!!!
So once this weekend is out of the way then I am going to do the last bit of overhauling my diet, buy a few more vits, cut out caffeine completely (I only have 1 a day but want to drop that one too), I have also got a book re healthy eating before and during pg so may check out some of their recipes too. I know it may be going overboard slightly but I have waited over 3 years to get to this stage so nothing is gonna stop me now!! I am trying to find a local yoga class too as this is supposed to be good for de-stressing.
They said dh would need to do another swimmers test between now and treatment and depending on the results would decide then which treatment we have.
Anyway, so no date as yet but looking at Sept time but at least we are talking about appts being in weeks rather than months!
Now I have woffled on about appt will start another post incase I run out of space!

Hey ladies how are we all doing?
Hows everyone getting on ? Havent been on for a wee while, laptop was away getting fixed and never get a minute with Thomas being clingy hehe - been working 7 days just now as well and having a really hard time at the mo with in laws being skint and one thing and another.....banks! GRR.
So where to start well girl who was giving me a hard time at work shut the door the other day and said she had something to tell me - oops sounds ominous I thought? So out she comes with "I am handing my notice in going to go to uni full time" I tried so hard to stop the big smirk appearing on my face hehe I said oh ok was gobsmacked hehe didnt see that one coming.....so she leaves in September....yeha! Was so happy for the rest of the day.....so then I get an email from my boss saying she wants to discuss my pay rise after my probationary period so I thot oh my god here we go again!
My private hire is going really well and seriously contemplating doing that more and maybe just working at nite. That way at least I would feel so bad when Thomas is crying in the morning or at nite when I leave to go to work its so hard!
Oh aye and fil tells me he has depression was up there on Friday and moaned that he had TOLD me I had left Thomas trainers up there and I should have been up earlire to get them eh? I said I have been working 7 days and picking up Thomas as Toms been working overtime all week! He said u only stay doon the road man I said aye and I work full time nd so does Tom I said I would be up for them at the weekend - he says I have depression you know I am not able to do this that and the next thing - I said man you r making ME depressed! Then he phones me last nite and said are youse coming over? I said no had just had a massive fall out with Tom and he caught me in a bad mood and I said that pig of a son of yours blah blah he started laughing I said ypou tyhink its funny do you ? That I do EVERYTHING and no one helps us out with Thomas my mum and sister do EVERTYHING and bend over backwards youse do nothing are more3 interested in Emmajane! Then he called me an arse and I put the phone donw......they phoned again this morning but have ignored it twice - can do without it just so stressed and when I am not near them I get on better an d,might fall pg so rant over sorry hope you guys are all good and sorry for the moan......if you can offer any adivce I would be relaly grateful....xx

Hi Sarah,
Glad to hear your dad is doing sp well, fingers crossed this carries on!!!! Thanks for asking about my nan, she isn't doing too well at the min, Grandad wanted to call the doctor out but she said no, thankfully the nurse has been coming in to check on them both and she made an appt with the doctor straight away, he has doubled her morphine patches so at least the pain she is suffering will be minimal, he said to her after everything she has gone through and her age he really is surprised she is still with us
. My Grandad has been put on the waiting list too for replacement knees as he is suffering and struggling more.Have a fantastic time in Exeter, fingers crossed the weather is supposed to be good too!!!
Has your letter turned up yet?
Laura at work is a nightmare, she is a lovely girl but very immature you would say she was more like 17/18 than coming up for 25, she is so dippy and gets so distracted, I had a bit of a strop at work with my boss yest as I feel like I'm getting tarred with the same brush as her and people were starting to doubt my abilities, he said that was not the case and he would sit down with me after his hols!!!
Most of Jess's friend in the pre school are going into new her school and class which is really good, hopefully she will start talking very soon!!!!
Take care and have a fantastic weekend

Hi Tina,
My dad is doing well ta - had his staples removed on Monday - which he said was very painful, 1 or 2 'leaks' but nurse coming out to check on him which is good.
We are off to Exeter this weekend as one of my cousins is getting married - makes me feel old as I remember him being very little! Looking forward to seeing everyone tho and on the Sun my bro, fiance and Alicia are coming over for a BBQ so will get some cuddles too! You got anything planned? My friend is well thanks and my goddaughter is very cute and now wants to walk everywhere - but holding your hands not her walker! Off to the in-laws for tea this eve so will see my youngest neice (5 months) - Faye, she is quite high maintenance tho, I will try for a cuddle but she only seems to like people she sees lots of i.e. her parents and the in-laws.
Yeah really pleased re appt altho I wish they would hurry up and send the letter as want plenty of time to fill in these forms. Matt and I have booked half day hol as appt is at 2pm and wont want to come back to work after.
Glad all went well on your night out - can be a bit of a worry sometimes work do's as to how they are going to go. Sounds like yours went well tho!!! How are you finding work now, still busy? How is the (not so new) new girl - Has she settled in properly now?
Good that Jess is excited about big school. And lets hope that she will be fine talking there. Thats good that they are going to take her over a few times. Will she have friends going with her to her new school and class?
How is your nan doing? She had flu a while ago didnt she - hope she has fully recovered now.
Well best get on with some work now!
Take care

Hello!!!!
Congratulations Kathryngolighlty as Sarah said defo helped with us as 5 weeks after mine I fell pregnant and am now the very proud mummy of a 4 year old little girl who I swear has been on this earth before the thing she comes out with!!! You take care!
Sarah - How's your dad, hopefully not in too much pain, bless him. I will again keep my fingers tightly crossed that he receives some encouraging news from his scan results,
Fantastic news about your appointment, only 11 more days to go, I'm so pleased and excited for you!!!!
How was your friend and your little goddaughter? Oh how I would love for me time, although I wouldn't swap my two for the world I would love 5 mins to myself now and again!!! Mind you saying that I had a fab night Friday night went out with our dept from work and after trying to come up with a whole load of excuses as my boss has been rather stressed and snappy lately, we went out for something to eat and drink and I think I strolled in at 2:45 and only spent £8.00 and thankfully Jess slept in until 10:00!!
Jess is alot better thanks, getting very cheeky so you either know with her she is coming down with something or she is getting over something, plus she has been with my childminders 12 year old so the cheek she comes home with is a nightmare. She does seem to be excited about the big school and I definately think she is ready for it, they are going to take her over a few times and hr pre-school teachers are going to leave the room to see if she will talk to her new teacher!!
Do you know my neighbour hasn't even had the manners to knock and thank anyone for alerting him to that burning, ignorant pig!!!
Right best shoot going to bath madam Jess now
Take care

Hello,
Many congrats to you Kathryngolighlty! Unfortunately that has not happened for me, but I know it helped Tina with a successful pg.
Tina - spoke to my pa last night. Sounds like he is in alot of pain, he said at 3am on Weds morning he would have gladly gone back to hospital! They removed just over 1/3 of his liver - they found 2 more tumours whilst operating. One they removed but unfortunately the other is right in the middle where the blood supply leaves the liver into the body. They blasted this with heat and hope that does the trick. Obviously now its a waiting game again until the scan results in 5/6 weeks then they decide what happens next and fingers crossed nothing has 'escaped' into the rest of his body. On the whole he sounds ok tho and is just taking each day/step at a time.
I phone the hospital yesterday to hassle re my scan results - exciting news, got an appt on 12th June. This is gonna be the start of things as will be sent forms to fill in and bring along to the appt - not sure how quickly things will move after that but hopefully wont take too long!!! Very excited, bit scared too tho!?!
Off to stay with my friend Wendy tomorrow overnight so can spend some time with her and my goddaughter Iona - she was 1 a couple of weekends ago. Looking forward to that then back home Sat for some me time as Matt away at a stage do in Cornwall Fri - Sun. You got much planned for the weekend?
Ah bless Jess thats a really nice way of putting someone passing - living in the sky with the stars. Hugs to your friends - cant imagine what they are going thro. My friend Angie has just had her 20 week scan and all is well - she lost a little boy at 20 wks previously so worries until she gets past that stage now.
Sorry to hear Jess is still feeling low - hope she is on the way to a full recovery now. Is she excited about going to see big school?
Gosh thats really bad re your neighbour and the cooker - lucky you smelt smoke - sounds like a bit of an a**e tho!!!
Best go and do some work now! Have a good weekend

27/5/08 19:28
Hi Sarah!!
I'm good ta!
Fantastic news about your Dad, I'm really really pleased for you all, but most of all him!!!! Have you spoken to them yet to see what the surgeon said?
Thankfully we hadn't said anything to Jessica about the two girls being pregnant, so don't have to face that, but she is quite good cos she will quite often ask if I would like to see my daddy who lives in the sky with the stars and looks after us, bless her. Jess's little friends mum was in church Sunday, so I just said asked how she was, didn't want to fuss too much as that was the last thing I wanted when I had my miscarriage, but she did really well throughout the service until the very end when she broke down!! My other friend is doing really well, the hospital gave them a memory box where they put pictures of the baby, his hand and footprints, a blessing certificate, I think this has really helped them. I just feel abit awkward talking about Jess at the min, know I shouldn't but don't want her to feel strange or upset.
Jessica must still be low from her chickenpox as she had a really horrible sickness bug on Sunday which meant she couldn't even keep water down, she was so good though, just lay on the settee or in my arms, sleeping so thats when you know Jess-Grace isn't well. She is still saying every so often her tummy hurts but not too bad.
The teachers are as bemused about her as we are, I personally think its a game gone too far and that the teachers have made such a big deal out of her not talking that she is now just being stubborn and refusing to talk. If you ask her why she doesn't she says that one of the little boys is really naughty and hits out and she doesn't want him to hear her talk or laugh at her when she does. Next week when they are back at school she will be starting visits up to the big school and they are going to leave her in the new classroom with the new teacher and see if she will talk to her.
I would defo chase up the hospital, it might even mean you get an appointment sooner rather than later!!! I think you are right to stop the accupuncture at the min, esp as you are still going to be having reflexology.
Because of the weather and Jessica's bug we didn't get up to much over the bank holiday, good job really cos the idiot who lives downstairs from us came in a little worse for wear and fell asleep with his cooker on and nearly burnt the place down, good job I could smell smoke and alert a couple of the other neighbours but the ungrateful git just opened the door said he had it under control and slammed the door in our faces, no thank you, nothing and the stair well still smells of smoke!!!!
Take care
speak soon

Me again - forgot to say, we had acupuncture yesterday. They wanted to sign us up again for another 10 weeks. We put our foot down tho and said we need a break and did not want to sign up again. We are both a little bit worried incase we have done the wrong thing, but on the whole we feel it is the right decision as we are starting to feel that the whole herb preparation etc is becoming a chore and I dont think if we carry on we will benefit as much if we view it like this. I may go back again once I have got a date sorted out for treatment - if I can just have acu and not herbs again tho.
We are just going to carry on being healthy dietwise etc and see what happens. I will go back to having reflexology fortnightly again soon too.

Hi Tina,
How are you? So sorry to hear the sad news re your friend and also the mum at school. How are they doing? Did Jess understand much when you explained to her about it? Cant imagine what they are going through - hugs to them and you too.
Sorry to hear Jess has been poorly but sound like she was a trooper through it. What did the teacher say when you mentioned re Jessica being fine playing with her friends out of school? Has anything happened to make her shy at school do you know?
My dad is doing really well thank you - say him on Sat and surprisingly he was awake for our visit. He had all his tubes removed by yesterday and mum text this morning to say he is being discharged this arvo - 3 days early which is brilliant. Still dont know what the surgeon said - how much he had to take away/if he found any more etc. But will find out when I next speak to my folks.
Glad to hear you nan seems to be doing well must be hard on you and your g'dad.
Not heard anything from the hospital yet - think I am gonna phone them up this week and see if I can find anything out - am worried in case a letter has gone missing and I will slip down the waiting list!!
Hope you had a good bank hol - did you do much?
Take care hun

Hi Sarah!!
Really glad you had a lovely holiday! Don't worry about the 2.5 lbs put on isn't that what holidays are all about, eating and drinking what ever you want!!!
sorry to hear you don't think the bd didn't work and that the horrid witch is on her way, can't she just do a detour for 9 months??!!!!Any news on your dad, (((hugs))) re getting upset, its not surprising, bless he has been through it in the last few months. Hope you have a lovely weekend and get lots of cuddles with Alicia!!
Had two really sad pieces of news this week, one of my lovely friends has had to have her baby induced at 23 weeks as the baby was severly disabled and the pregnancy was threatening my friends like, baby Jamie was born and sadly passed away on Wednesday evening
. Also one of the mums at school was 20 weeks pregnant with twin boys but sadly she miscarried in the week, she is home from hospital today and having to break the very sad news to Jessica's little friend, bless them!!!!Jessica has been off school as she has had chickenpox, she has been a little star and not been poorly at all bless her!!! She went back to school yest and today when I picked her up she said mummy I don't want to come with you I want to go with Grace, so off she toddled with Grace and 2 other little girls and she played and talked all afternoon with them so its definately something about the school environment that is stopping her talk, and I have told one of the teachers that!!!!
Saw my nan today and she didn't seem too bad, she just tends to fade fast if you stay to long bless her.
Have a lovely weekend.
Take care
love T

Hi Tina,
How's things with you? Is Jess speaking more at School now? How is your nan doing?
Well we had a lovely holiday - really did not want to come back! Weather mixed but warm all the time and when the sun was shining boy was it hot! Back to WW Tues eve and only put on 2½lbs which I was very pleased with!
Well, the bd did not work as af is on her way today - oh well on to next month! Still no letter re appt at the hospital yet so nothing to report on that front.
My dad went into hospital on Tues and was operated on yesterday. I got myself into a bit of a state and left work a couple of hours early as I started crying
(bit embarrassing - but everyone was lovely about it) Spoke to my ma, she missed a call yesterday from the surgeon re the op, but spent most of yesterday arvo/eve with my dad. He was talking and propped up which is good. She is was in to see him first thing this morning - he is on ICU ward at the mo so she can visit whenever she wants to (he is in Plymouth Hospital). Hopefully I will get an update later today. We are going to Exeter Fri eve to stay overnight at ma and pa's then going to visit dad in Plymouth on Sat (mum staying in Plymouth til Mon). Meeting my bro, Natalie and my cutest niece Alicia for lunch on Sun before we head back home in the eve.
Well, think that brings you up to date - you got anything planned for the weekend?
Take care

Hi,
Just a quick one to say my dad is going to have an op in May to remove 1/3 of his liver which is good news. Op will probably be towards end of May, he and ma are pleased with outcome of appointment.
Hope Jess and your nan are feeling better now.
As you say hoping to come back from hol with a little extra!
Have a good week

hi sarah,
how did your dad get on at the specialist?
defo know the feeling about work being really busy hopefully i will be getting rid of one regions paperwork as 3 is far too much and i alway seem to be chasing my tail but still love it!!!!
oh fingers crossed you get your appointment and answer really really soon
we have been at the park in solihull all day both me and jessica are shattered and will not be late into bed tonight
i think as soon as jess starts reception class in september she will be fine the routine will be more structured rather than them all running round like lunies and being so loud, which she isn't used to being an only child!!
thanks for asking after my nan still feeling the effects of her cold but we couldn't go up yesterday as jess came up in a rash which the school thought was scarlatina (sp) but the doctor seemed to think it was a viral infection if not just the effects of the heat - p***ly heat so she is taking piriton at the mo
right hope you have a fantastic weeks holiday, take care and hopefully you might come back with more than you took

Ladies
First of all I do care about you both and I have been reading all the posts and checking in whenever I can. I am disappointed that you are saying these nasty things about me not caring about your dad, I have had alot of problems in my family too and they are cancer related, my dad is in a wheelchair after a botched up operation 2 yrs ago but I chose not to share that kind of thing with anyone as its personal to me and I cope with it how I can. I am not on bounty alot as been ttc for nearly 3 1/2 yrs with no success, I have had a lot of problems with family friends and work and have been working 3 jobs to make ends meet hence my reason for not being here all the time like you ladies are.
Tina I have offered you support and you used to email me at work only lst year and I considered all you ladies to be a friend, and you were always there to support me and I have read all the previous posts and I have asked about your dad and your nan so dont ever say that I am not caring and not interested, I just have not been able to be on this 24-7, ttc is a stressful thing at the best of times and sometimes reading posts on bounty can be upsetting and depressing and no amount of talking to anyone or the amount of support will make it go away.
I am sorry you both feel like this but I have never ever done anything to belittle any of you and ignoring me wasnt very nice as you say I ha ve not been on here as much as I was but I have been working 7 days a week to make ends meet trying to keep a house and a full time and part time job isnt easy and looking after a toddler too.
