Hi ladies,
Well the reflexology hasn't appeared to work, and midwife refused to give me a sweep as it is policy to wait to 41 weeks here and she had a student with her, so probably didn't want to be seen to break the rules. She also said in terms of home birth, she wouldn't be around this weekend, but was on call next week so if I wanted her then it was best to wait. I have every confidence in this midwife after the disaster of one I had with my son, so I think I am happy to wait...Still have the interfering mother in law visit looming that is going to spoil our new family time, which is one of the reasons I want baby out now...
Have been having niggly pains and tightening of the stomach, but not amounting to much. A few in the night woke me up, so may be things are starting to turn a corner.
Mara, I agree, September babies are coming thick and fast now. I can't keep up posting congratulations!
I'm off to entertain my two year old as Lazy Town has just finished!
Love, Luck and Labour Vibes to all,

Well I can safely say hernebaylooby that it wasn't me who stole your contractions... I am still here 40+3 today and absolutely no signs that this little one is going to make an appearance any time soon. I went to see a reflexologist this morning to see if she could get me going. No luck so far, although she did show me the places to continue to apply pressure to, so am giving Oz a job later on. My dad is disappointed, its his birthday today and I think he wanted to share it with his tenth grandchild! I've got six hours to grant him his wish!
Off to see midwife tomorrow morning. Am going to beg for a sweep. Hopefully, she will oblige. I don't see that there is much difference between having one Friday and waiting until Monday. The one I had last time didn't work, so am not anticipating the first one to this time. So the way I see it, we may as well get going with them

Labour vibes to all those waiting, and love and kisses to all the recent arrivals. Hope you are all well.

Just popping in to see if there were any new babies. Hernebaylooby, doesn't sound like it will be too much longer for you. It may not be early but it could be on time! Dizzymoo sorry to hear things didn't help last night, you can always keep trying
Mara, can't believe you're so close now!
Loads of labour vibes to all that need them, sounds like there's a few imminent!

right as its mine and dp 4 year aniversay today, and im 37 weeks im gona have a hot curry and a nice bath with celey sage bubble bath and sex, if baby wants to make and aprance then he will! (im hoping)lol fed up of this spd and not beening able to turn over in bed with out crying out and doing things with ds with being in pain, plus as it hurts when im trying to clean its getting to me as i really want to nest tidy and dp standards and mine are on diferent levels lol, so its driving me nuts lol. everyone i see says that they dont experct me to last 3 weeks but then a women at ds nursey said to me today that if i went 6 days over with ds then i wold prob go over with this one
if shes been preg 3 times before and they was all over due then she should know thats NOT wot i want to hear.10/9/08 13:11
well after a few false alarms im still here ! how are you doing lins ? cant believe they're not going to give you one before ! i had a stand in mw the other week and she was going to book me in for a sweep today ( 39+5) but she asked another mw 1st ( who i dont like...even more so now ! lol) and she said no i could wait until i was 40+6
i have eaten curries, bad boy pot noodle, sex, floor cleaning, walking, pineapple yet nothing ... on friday (my due date) my nephew is 1 and on sunday is my fil's bday so i dont want him to make an appearence then.im slowly running out of things to do house has never been so tidy me and dd are enjoying some time just the two of us. and me and dh are when dd is in bed. im just so huge and uncomfortable and starting to wonder if i am actually pregnant

9/9/08 13:18
Labour vibes to you ladies.

sadly i am still here too lol although i cant complain as not due for another 16 days. am trying to keep busy clearing the place up like you linz our place has never been this clean in a year i have given so much stuff to the charity shops and cleared out all the cupboards. i am really anal about the bedroom being clean if dh leaves dirty clothes around or anything i freak at him! hopefully thats a good sign as thats where i have set up to have baby and i feel quite animal about keeping my nest clean and seem to be spending tons of time up there lmao (does that make any sense to anyone?).
i think thats a bit crappy of your midwife Linz with your history you would have thought she would be willing.
i guess its just a waiting game now for a good few of us. the race is on ladies lol. good luck to you all.

Hi ladies!
Well, I am now officially overdue by one day
Really thought it was it Sunday night as had pains every 10 minutes for two hours during the night, which gradually got less painful, typical. I am now completely fed up of hot curry, pineapple and clary sage oil. Stooped to scrubbing kitchen floor tiles last night on my hands and knees, and that hasn't worked either - should have just used the mop like normally do!Have mw on Friday, but she has refused to consider sweep until at least one week over. I will be 40+4 then, and some areas do them even before due date - why the wait for me? Desperately want this baby out before mother-in-law comes over. I know it will come when it is ready, but am anxious to have lo safely in my arms now. Am still concerned that my placenta may fail again - wasn't allowed to go overdue last time.
On a positive note, I am enjoying my last few days as a mum of one with Seb, who is being gorgeous. My house is also the most organised and spotless it has ever been since we moved in over a year ago!

sending you labour vibes cant wait to hear your story. x

Hi Everyone!
4 weeks has gone really fast Jen. How isbaby Kyle? It does seem that it was only yesterday we were waiting on your news, and here we are getting closer to our dates.
I now have birth pool set up in dining room and am collecting various bits together in preparation. Midwives are on call now too. Oz has gone back to work (teacher) so am on my own again with Seb and permanently exhausted, so feel a litte guilty. I was very spoiled to have him off helping out for the last six weeks!
Have had a few niggles the last two nights that have woken me up, but have not manisfested into anything. Mum and Dad treated us to a curry last night (very hot for me), but it hasn't changed anything....Oz is now cutting up the pineapple. Although I'm not overdue, I don't want to go too far over, as (some of you will be aware) my placenta failed last time, and although they have kept an eye on me, I am still anxious that there is very little evidence to say it isn't happening again. So, will take those labour vibes and anymore that people can send! Might have to try sex, if I really get desperate!
Mara, hope Arwen's first day at school goes well on Monday, and that you then may get some rest!
Love and Labour Vibes to all those waiting.

still here large as life im afraid lol contractions never got any more regular so either a false alarm or pre labour pains.
Icant believe Kyle is 4 weeks old tommorow Jen! why the heck cant the last 4 weeks of pregnancy go that fast?? i can imagine things are hectic my dd was 7 weeks old when mine went back last year and i remember the rushing about very well especially after getting used to being care free with baby for 6 weeks over the hols lol.
hope you are having a nice holiday Sarah and hope the weather is better than it is here right now.
my midiwfe brought my homebirth box this morning and we had a good nosey through it all my room is all set up its a lovely little nest up there. my mw is putting herself on call every day from my due date (as she knows i tend to go overdue) and is doing everything she can so that she is the one here to bring baby into the world which i thought was really lovely of her although she is extremely cheery and hyper and when her and dh get together its like a comedy sketch so not sure thats a good or bad thing for when i am in labour them pair gas bagging lmao.
great news about your gas&air arriving Dizzy thats the main thing lol. my hb team carry theirs around although at my last hb she left it in the car as the paramedics were here so hoping i will get it this time around lol.
tons of labour vibes ladies cant wait to hear some more stories.
