well I'm 37+4 wks now and for the past few days I've had contractions and cramps on and off, plus I've been pooing for Scotland and had some plug loss.  I'm not allowed a hb for another 3 days so I had better keep my legs crossed

Hi. I've not been on homebirths for ages but thought it was about time I got back on as baby is due next Wednesday. I'm on dia a fair bit so know some of you fellow homebirthers from there.

How is everyone. Who else is due soon? I saw my midwife today and all set for the homebirth still. Baby is very deeply engaged apparently so baby could come anytime. My first son was 13 days late and second son was 4 days late so not expecting to be early!

Take care everyone. Jude (39 weeks)

    Hi ladies,

Sorry you new mums are having probs with the breast feeding. I am going to try again with this one, but wasn't successful with the other 2 so not sure how it will go. Hopefully it will be a bit cooler when I have my baby in middle of Aug (forever the optimist LOL).

Good luck at the consultant today Tammy, and good luck to Happylife - hope the contractions are coming strong now.

I have the consultant again today for my spd. See what my options are.

    Hi all.

omg i have not stopped feeding since around 7pm tonight i ended up crying with exhaustion and resentment too. Thank god i spoke to the bf counsellor earlier today. She explained that baby will swap breasts in one feed due to the hot weather, it keeps them hydrated cos its the fore milk. I'm glad you said that is happening with you too. I am going to the bf group tomorrow cos i need some support. They are going to lend me a sling and that may free me up a bit. Apparently the first 4 weeks are the worst.

It is so hot and i have been sweating but i am so glad that i'm not pg in this heat. Imagine the DIA women now hey. poor things. I got my girl out in the nick of time.

Congrats Kirstie.......whats the news is Zacharys heart working as it should? I assume there is no prob or you would've said.

Well i have to sleep once again. I can hardly get on here anymore and when i do i fall asleep lol.

    nite all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hello and welcome Skizzywales. Good luck with your appointment tomorrow. I'm not actually waiting for my baby anymore as she arrived 18 days ago but i still post when i get chance but tend to read everyday as everyone was great when i was pg and i don't want to leave lol!!

It's my first day on my own with the 2 of them, not sure if it's going ok or not at the mo as ds is being a little monkey and is supposed to be having a nap now but he's not gone to sleep and i can't settle him as dd is clamped to me. Finding bf v hard going in this weather as we end up pouring with sweat. Also she's having to feed off both sides each feed cos she's so hot so it takes ages and i still don't seem able to satisfy her.

    Jen can't believe you're almost 38 weeks, it's flying!!

Kim, Katie's still feeding constantly too whenever she's awake she wants food, it's so draining isn't it? and not easy with an 18 month old. I've got a moby wrap sling but not figured out how to feed her in it yet. I think she may be having a growth spurt too asa she's woken more at night for a feed the last couple of days.

    Take care all Sarah x

awwww Jen hun *huggs*..... I'm so sorry you had to abandon your HB plans but it sounds like you have made the best decision under the circumstances, at the end of the day as long as baby comes into the world safe & sound thats what matters. I'll keep you posted on how things go tomorrow am sure its all gonna be fine is just a formality really, I'm only measuring 2 weeks behind & the midwife isn't concerned as I'm only petite she said she wouldn't expect me to be measuring bigger & baby feel right on track, also she said the midwives protocols is to only make the referreal when your measuring 3 or more weeks behind, its all down to the dopey doctor at the hospital when I was admitted who got my dates all wrong, she went by my LMP not my scan dates (a weeks difference), but now she's got the ball the rolling only the consultant can stop it, it's out of my midwife's hands. So am keeping my fingers crossed, my appointment isn't until 3:15pm 7 they are always running late so won't have an update till late tomorrow. Tammy xx

Good luck with your apt. tomorrow, I'm sure all will go well. You will need to let us know how you get on.

I had been planning a hb with this one from very early on, but unfortunately not having one now as poss issues with baby's heart. However, I love coming in here and can't stay away LOL. Everyone is so nice and gave me loads of support when I was deciding what to do.

    Good luck,

    Jen x

Hi Jen thanks for the warm welcome hun.... once I've seen the consultant tomorrow & had my HB rubber stamped I'll be pulling out the big guns also, will be drinking so much raspberry leaf my back teeth will be floating & poor DH won't know whats hit him, he'll think all this xmas's have come at once.... lol I've fought so hard for this HB & we're not having anymore children after this little one, am not gonna risk the chance of going overdue & being induced like i was with my first. Also our local hospital is horrible have only been admitted once when i thought i had sprung a leak, it was like a meat market & no way am i going back there.

good morning ladies.... I hope you don't mind me crashing in, just wondering if I can join you. I'll give you a quick intro.... I'm Tammy, this is baby number four for us, am 36+5 today due 20/08/08.... only 2 days & qualify for my homebirth, whoooo hoooo! well gotta see consultant tomorrow to sign me off as Lumpy is measuring a little small for my dates but my madwife doesn't seem to think there will be any issues, its just a bit of red tape I finally finished work on friday & I was hoping I could join for some company while we all sit out this final few weeks.

Thanks thats a good idea, I know the breastfeeding counsellor has one that she lends out so i will ask her.  If i carry on like this then nothing will ever get done and i will have a big fat baby. I've definately forgotten what hard work babies are.  I've learnt that Tiana doesn't always want to be fed when she keeps waking up cos i put her to me and she thinks i'm a dummy. In more ways than one as well. lol.

Ellen get yourself a sling that you can feed in. I still have my close baby carrier and it is fab. I used to feed Freya in that. As she was my 5th I needed to be able to do stuff with the others at times so the sling was a godsend

It is really hot here today, after lunch we are all going to sit in the shade in the garden and relax.

I did have the mad idea to cut the grass a few days ago at mid-day!!!! I will never do that again

    I hope everyone is ok.

    Take care ladies.

    Hi everyone,

I hope those of you who are pg now are coping with this heat. Its sooo hot isnt it.  It's making me really hot while i'm breastfeeding.

Sarah, i know what you mean about feeding continuously, it's driving me mad too. I was crying this morning just through lack of time to myself  and through having to hold Tiana all the time.

I would love to upload a pic but i don't know how to do it. I'll try again.

Hi Jen, Mara, Kirstie, valora,  Dana  and all others, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Sarah, great to hear you and Katie are doing well. She sounds like a total milk monster LOL.

Yeah I have about 2 1/2 wks til my due date altough after this weeked I will be trying everything going LOL. Was 10 days late with other 2, infact induced with DD2. I really don't want to be late with this one. SPD still pretty bad, so seeing consultant again next week to see how I am getting on and discuss options (whatever that means). He did mention me poss geting a sweep at 39wks, so that might be an option for me.

I saw the thread on DIJuly as I have been keeping an eye out for Kirsty, really hope this is it for her. Think she is 10 days over now.

Hope your colds clear up soon. How is your spd, any better yet?

Hi everyone. Kirstie, am hoping the fact that you've not been on due in july today means your little man has arrived!!

Congrats on your pink bump Valora!! I've updated my due in list.

Really not long now for you Jen, were your other 2 early/on time/late?

Kim, you must post some pics of Tiana, i'd love to see her!

We're fine here. Katie is 2 weeks old today already, i can't believe it!! I had a bit of a bad day with Katie yesterday as she wanted to feed constantly most of the day and i found it really stressful and draining and ended up having a major row with DH. Fortunately my mum has been around all week so at least she was able to keep Matthew occupied. I ended up having to top her up with formula as i'd obviously run out of milk. Fortunately she took a bottle with no problems. We've also all got colds (including Katie bless her) so i don't think that helped yesterday.

labour vibes to all that need them!! x
