thanks for your advice ladies, the more i think about a hospital birth the more i hate it, when i was induced with dd, they were unsure if i was dilating, or if babys head was engaged so they kept giving me painfull internal examinations and opening my legs! My midwife has told me that if i wanted an induction at 38 wks again i would probably get one, but i may ask her about the sweep thing, my worse case scenario is that i end up going way overdue and havng to be induced anyway!

    hey hun.

#3 4 me 2... iv had spd since 10 weeks, on crutches since 16 weeks n latest addition is a leg brace coz its affecting my knee and my knee keeps dislocating so at 28 weeks iv gta wear a leg brace 4 rest of it.

i had hosp birht with ds and home with dd. this time im goiin 4 home birth form 36 weeks. also gna b havin a sweep asap after 36 weeks (obv depends if my cervix is open) to try n induce me. dont want any drugs 2 induce me tho so i can still have a home birht. mayb worthin askin ur mw about that option?

if not depending how severe ur spd is they will induce form 36 weekls its jsut a question of showing the hosp u know "risks" etc etc

Hi, i had SPD in my recent pregnancy and had my DD at home 17 days ago. Have you thought about a home water birth as i found the water took the pressure and weight off my body and meant i could be alot more mobile than normal and i could also lean over the side of the pool etc without putting pressure on my pelvis.

    Good luck, Sarah x

i have had spd since 15 weeks with this baby and i am going for a homebirth. i had one with my 3rd and it was fantastic much more relaxing and a much better recovery.

i was induced at 39 weeks last year with my 4th but that was more to do with her suspected size rather than the spd i had with her and i wasnt happy at all they caused me a lot of problems labour was fine very fast as usual but they forced my legs open and shoved me into stirrups which has caused me a lot of problem with my hips since. i wanted to give birth on my knees/all fours because of the spd with her but they wouldnt let me they just kept telling me to turn over for a second while they check her e.t.c and the second i was on my back i was in too much pain to move back again after 2 or 3 times of doing it.

personally i think homebirth is the much better option when you have spd because the more relaxed you are the less pain relief you need and the less pain relief the more you are aware of your spd and how far to push it.

Hi ladies, this is my first time posting on here. I am 25 weeks preg with number 3. I have severe spd since 12 weeks, it is getting worse by the day. I had this with my second preg (but not my first) from about 23 weeks, the pain was so unbearable i was induced )upon my pleading) at 38 weeks. although it was  a straight forward induction and quick, natural labour, I have been thinking about a hb this time, for several reasond really, but in the back of my mind im tempted to ask for an induction at 38wks again, ans the pain is getting me down already.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
