My MWs don't bother with home checks. They know I live in sh1tty flat but that doesn't bother them, as long as I am not going to be giving birth i a cupboard its all ok.

Hi everyone, I am due 30th August so 35+2 right now. I am really hoping to have a home birth (I live in Milton Keynes and our hospital is a bit rubbish, plus the fact that I think I'd be happier at home). My midwife has to come round to my home and check that it is suitable for hb, but she has said I've still got loads of time, and she'll call me to arrange it in a couple of weeks.... should I be hasseling a bit more for this? I know its most likely I'll be late as its my first, but I hate leaving everything to the last minute. Any advice? x

I wouldn't start worrying yet, they don't really get swinging until at least 37 weeks as long as your MW knows you want a HB you should be fine. Good luck
