I totally agree with you! As for the mw who said why bother giving birth at home, what a tw*t, she has obviously never been abused by the mw's in hosp! Some people will prob give it all the b*llsh*t that you are putting bubs at risk etc but you have weighed up all the pro's and con's you are going in with yur eyes wide open & you will make decisions as & when needed depending of the needs of the baby so you are 100% right in your choice! Be strong hun, you & all us on here know you can do it!

right after much deliberation weve settled ona decision. i had an awful delivery with ds, hosp didnt believe me when i needed 2 push, i started bleeding heavily and was beign prepped for emergency section when he finally arrived. 2 years later and i still hate thinking about it. with dd i had her at home and was lovely. went into labour at 35 weeks. was in early labour for 3 weeks. at 38 weeks mw checked me at 5cm and my waters broke all over her. dd arrived 14mins alter with no pushing. fish n chips 4 dinner less than 2 hours later - sooo much nicer!
so anyway. from 35 weeks theres teh breathing risk and if there r problems we would have to transfer to hosp after the birht, probably with baby havng a bag n mask to assist with breathing, but like wise baby may be perfectly fine. may have trouble feeding as sucking reflex not strong enough so would need to be cup/tube fed until bf properly. also may have problem maintaining body heat so would need to spenda couple of days on a heat mat in hosp. mw said to me if im prob gna have to transfer after then y bother giving birhtat home y not jsut give birht in hosp anyway. dh and i have dscussed it and we woudl still much rather have t eh baby at home and then transfer in if need be.
from 36 weeks same risks apply but less so. body temp and feeding can be put off transferring for a day or two by lots of skin to skin contact to help bubs regulate body temp. and may ahve problems feeding but ds refused to feed for 1st 3 days, latched on and i bf him for 7 months so i know i can persevere with it.
after 36 weeks if baby decides to be breech we will go for a home birth tho wont attempt a natural delivery at home after 38 weeks jsut incase baby is too big and does get stuck. would still go for natural delivery in hosp would just b there jsut incase we needed help delivering.
gna refuse an induction until im 43 weeks as well. really wna avoid all the potential complications that go with an induction. my bun will come out when its cooked thank you - not before! lol
having said all of that come 36 weeks i will be demanding a sweep... they would induce me coz of my spd at 36 weeks anyway so hosp shouldnt have a problem with it and as it can only be done if body is getting ready to go into labour anyway i see it as jsut helping things along rather than induction iykwim.

even goin into hosp 2 hav a breech birth scares the sh!t out of me but i know its wot would b best 4 the baby.
plus theres the fact that its only a small risk that baby will b born b4 36 weeks and/or b breech but dh and i jsut wna b prepared
