aw all us May mummies were just chatting about that birthdate and how cool it would be to be born that day - and you managed it - well done you - so very pleased that the birth was good and welcome to your little man - I hope the SPD eases off quickly as well.

Congratulations Jen and welcome baby Kyle, he's absolutely gorgeous. So glad everything went well and that Kyle is fine after all the worry you've had over the last few weeks. Hope you're more mobile now too and the SPD is much better. What do his sisters make of him?

    Take care, Sarah x

Well as a lot of you know waters went on Wed 6th and had to be induced on Thurs 7th.

Had gel put on at 4pm and was 2-3cm with no effacement, started to get contractions every 10mins but was coping easily, got to 9pm and sent DH home as felt it would start in a few hours and wanted to get some sleep. (He told me to keep my legs crossed until midnight as he wanted the baby born on the 8th LOL) As soon as he left they went to every 5mins and no way I could sleep through them as was having to breath them away. Got to 11:30pm and was starting to struggle and wanted gas and air so said I wanted DH and wanted to go to labour ward as my last labour was very fast.

Got to labour ward just after midnight, DH arrived 5mins later. Started on gas and air. MW wanted to see how far on I was. Told her if she said I was only 3cm I would cry. So she examined me and I as only 3cm (burst into tears LOL). I was fully effaced though so was just needing to dilate. Asked for diamorphine as the contractions were suddenly coming on much stronger. Got put on an antibiotic drip as well as had a suspected infection due to waters going (gave the poor junior dr a row for hurting my hand). Within the hour needed to push, so she checked again and was 10cm So 1 push to get baby to crown and then tried to stop as it was nippy (high on drugs obviously)  but my body just took over and pushed him out. So pushing stage was about 1or 2 mins LOL. Didn't even have time to get the injection for my placenta. Established labour just over an hour. No stitches.

We called him Kyle, he was born at 01:26am on 08/08/08. He was 7lb 14oz.

Thanks for reading, and labour vibes to all who want them.

    Jen x
