aww brill story hun and congrats!.

dont worry about not having the hb at the end of the day you got a good birth experience and you and your little lady and happy and healthy as much as i am pro hb both your happiness and healthy come first.

ouch at the syntocin i remember it well i had it when i was induced with ds2 i went from 3cm-birth in 25 mins was the most painful birth i have ever had although i would take that timescale again if i could lol.

    hey ladies,

just copied this from my dia post

as some of you may know i didn't get my planned homebirth *** src="http://my.bounty.com/smiley/msn/sad_smile.gif" alt="" /> my cervix wouldn't dilate passed 3cm after my waters broke so they let me go 34 hours before making me go in and as i was already 3cm i had to skip the gel and go straight to the syntocinon drip (which some of you may know accelerates your labour at an alarming rate), i had it with my ds so knew what to expect and said i'll def have an epidural then.

1pm i was put on the drip and things were absolutely fine for the first 2hours, i was able to use birthing ball and found standing and rocking really helped, got into the 3rd hour and things took a turn and i was really struggling to breathe through each contractions so i started to mention epidural, so i was examined and already 8cm, i was still demanding an epidural but the midwives were saying i didn't have long and if i didn't take the epidural i could go home tthat night, so i finally decided to try the gas and air and wow, what a difference *** src="http://my.bounty.com/smiley/msn/teeth_smile.gif" alt="" />  i got myself over the back of the bed and puffed on the g&a then i found with each contraction i felt an urge to push, 30 mins later (gave birth to a couple of nice poos first) out came ruby alice matheson, yay!!!!!!!!!!!

she is gorgeous, weighs 6lb 1oz  and is feeding well and seems content (long may this continue )

it wasn't what i had planned at all but the midwives were so supportive and made sure i stayed as active as poss, and no, there won't be a 3rd baby now so i'll never know what a hb is like
