from what i've been told if you go into early labour and your cervix is a couple of cm and ready they can break your waters to help speed things along but you do have to be in early labour for that

mara's right hun.
im havign a sweep at 36 weeks as i want my home birth so refsed to have anythign more until im 43 weeks (unless its necessary of course)

the most they could do is give you a sweep but they arent always sucsessful anyway i have had several over my first 3 children and it never did the trick.
if you get induced in hospital you cannot go home because of the complications being induced can lead to it wouldnt be in yours or babies best interests.

As far as i have always been told you cannot be induced at home just incase the baby does'nt tollerate it. You have to be monitored to make sure there are no accelerations or decellerations in the heart beat.

hi everyone,
im due to have my little one next week 24th but he isnt engaged yet so got a feelin im gonna be late if need be will they induce me at home or will i have to go to dreaded hospital and have my baby there?
any advice or replies greatly appreciated
