hi i had mine two weeks ago and my midwife pretty much just went through a checklist and talked about each point with me and left me with a copy of it i can write down the list contents for you:

who has been informed?

GP

consultant

community team leaders

preparation

home birth leaflet given

on call rota explained

contact numbers given

student welcome/not welcome

home preparations/Discussions:

heating

child care

protective bedding/place of delivery

no naked flames/additional lighting

ambulance access

telephone

potential problems discussed

premature labour

raised blood pressure

prolonged labour

maternal haemorrhage

fetal distress/meconium liqour

prolonged rupture of membranes

post maturity

emergency transfer explained

suturing

so thats the home birth checklist that they do in my area (Leeds) and i should imagine that its pretty much the kind of things that they assess/talk with you in every area
