Also, i saw a programme on the discovery channel where a lady went 18 days overdue and still had her homebirth because she had daily monitoring

I have had 2 homebirths and i am planning another. I always go overdue and was informed by my midwife that i did'nt have to be induced, she would come and monitor me daily in surgery or at home and as long as me and baby were fine it was still ok to go ahead with a homebirth.

In the end i was booked in to be induced both times and the baby always came on the morning of the the day i was due to go into hospital.

Hope this helps and i hope you get your homebirth.

I have planned a homebirth twice before. I haven;t managed either of them because I've gone 14 days overdue and had to go to hospital to be induced. I think you can try to push for them to leave you longer but they will want to monitor baby. I didn;t push to be left as I'd had enough of being pregnant by then!!
